Keeping the Virginia roasters love going:
Red Rooster Coffee
They are based out of Floyd (a cool little town to spend a day in) and have some wonderful roasts, I've enjoyed a lot of their single origins and their Holiday Sweet Blend. Their new cafe there is quite the complex, they have a full on 'test kitchen' behind the scenes upstairs where they were working on making their own extracts and holding barista training classes
Will do. FWIIW Trager Brother in Lovingston Trager Brothers Coffee "Blend 90" kinda blew doors off almost everything I've ever roasted and that's not toooo far from you.
Praise all that is good and right Behmor AB Home Coffee Roaster are shipping once again.
Sheesh.
Knocked out my first 1/2 lb batch with the Behmor and I think we are going to be good friends.
Would love to hear tips and program notes that work for you.
LOL I did fail to hit + to add time before the unattended "feature" kicked in and had to off/on to get past first crack.
The coffee came out really well. I'm impressed.
Yo Toots, where did you set up the Behmor? How's the smoke control? My local roaster is going out of business, and there's nobody doing comparable work in town, so I'm thinking about getting back into home roasting. Gotta get my Ethiopia dry process fix. Behmor is at the top of my list right now.
Mudhouse Intention blend from c'ville is my go to. I have an older Behmor and haven't upgraded to the V2 pad yet, although I should, as roasted ethiopian beans are really pricey.

George Vanderbilt liked coffee too...
Gosh that's lovely.
Forgive me TooTall for I have sinned...I bought a hardly touched Nespresso VirtuoLine machine and accompanying Aeroccino milk frother last month from a tech dude who is relocating, so that I can make some decent coffee while I’m in Seattle. I’m only here one/week per month and I can’t justify investing in a full blown machine and grinder. My sin (blasphemy) is admitting that the damn machine works really, really well and the gent threw in 7 boxes of a variety of capsules to sweeten the deal...it seems like $50 well spent.
After several years of service, the hinge on my Behmor drum finally gave out. A replacement is on order from Behmor. Lets hope that final pound lasts long enough.
