Winners Never Quit and Control are my favorites. Some of his solo stuff is good. The themes get repetitive but still overall good. It's odd how I don't consider it music at all but a story told w/ backing chords.

Nothing has hit me harder lately than the new Copeland album Ixora.

The whole thing is good, but this track that's the one is called Like a Lie. Go now. Listen. I think it's all on Spotify as well.

Home, Like Noplace Is There by The Hotelier. This is, IMO, album of the year.
It's full of anger, confusion, heartbreak, loss, and other stuff that I haven't even begun to figure out (yet).
I was really positive that Billy fucked up majorly when he pissed of D'Arcy and James to the point of quitting. I was pretty sure Adore was the last good thing they were going to do . . . E V E R.
Seems like the last few albums were going the way of Chinese Democracy -- over produced, too confused, etc.
Billy's newest effort ranks as the best underwhelming album I've heard since NIN's With Teeth. And it's awesome that the title, Monuments to an Elegy, hints at a type of failure 180* in the other direction. Maybe it's meta -- failing at failing. . . Whatever, it's worth the 32 minutes.

My album of the year is probably Spoon's "They Want My Soul" - I've been listening to it twice daily for the last few weeks. Fantastic album.

British Sea Power did a soundtrack for a documentary montage (I guess that's what I'd call it) or collection of archival footage about life on the British coast. The premier featured the band playing live along with the film. One of my favorite bands but kind of hard to categorize. Which is probably why I like them. Film is called "From the Sea to the Land Beyond". Wish I'd thought of that.

You'll have to forgive me: I'm scrambling to re-make my portfolio so I can apply to new teaching gigs. This means a lot of music consumption.
I had NO IDEA that Alice in Chains was making new music. I'm really really liking "The Devil Put Dinosaurs on Here"
