Dental insurance is pretty good about covering crowns, something like 80-100%. But there’s a small caveat: the crown has to be silver—the blingy kind of crown. If you want the crown to be the fancy white ceramic kind that actually looks like, you know, a tooth…. Well then you’re on your own, because you’re obviously a high roller.

When my local mountain bike group lists the trails as green on their website and I drive all the way out there to find them unrideable. Well not without tearing the shit out of them. 2 hours in the car for 20 minutes of riding.

If the weapons work pays better, go do it. It is probably intellectually more challenging too.

Idiot drivers. Two hours on the bike today. All was well and I felt pretty decent for the relatively small amount of riding I've done this season. Minding my own business heading back towards town on Parnell Road, east-northeast of where I live by about 12 miles. There's even about 18" of pavement to the right of the white line and I'm either inside that or on the line. A-hole driver honks behind me, gives me about 6" berth and keeps honking and gives me the finger. Every fiber of my being wanted to flip him off, but of course I'm out in the middle of nowhere near nothing or nobody so I decide to eat this one. The guy keeps going, thankfully. We are vulnerable to the whack jobs out there and that pisses me off.

Every single driver but one played nicely with me today and this one guy came close to ruining my day.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here but that one had me lit up. Country roads with plenty of room for everyone and one guy has to be the idiot. There's no warm fuzzies inside me right now so that is my grump. That and commuting back to work this afternoon after being home a whopping 42 hours.

Otherwise it was a pretty decent ride.... ;-)

crash injuries on the hands that NEVER HEAL. i'm looking forward to the eventual cool-looking scar (chainring tooth scooped out a hole in the back of my hand), but three weeks of a bandaged hand is friggin inconvenient.

And on the subject of my own chapped ass, people keep bugging me to fucking race. They won't stop, even after I tell them I never liked it. I only raced because that's what all the cool kids were doing and I wanted to fit in. I liked going to races, hanging out with everyone, but as soon as I lined up I fucking hated every single second of it. Plus all the money I spent on the shit, all the time I wasted training for something I hated, why can't folks just accept it and quit bugging me? "Well, you could get a license" WHY? Why the fuck should I pay $60 for a license to do something that I have no intention of doing? Fucking racers and their one track minds. Can't possibly accept that I like riding, but I have no need to prove that I'm faster (or not, in most cases) than other people. Why can't I just ride because it's fun?

My springtime allergies are starting to kick in. It sucks. Feels like it's worse every year. I will ride tomorrow, though, even though I probably won't be able to breathe through my nose.

The obvious environmental damage coupled with the concious decision to circumvent the legal and proper way of getting projects approved. All for a profit and they still want to push the boundaries in the face of overwhelming evidence. I hate that shit and it's endemic of just about every facet of live. Generally humans are scumbags and it's only social rules that keep us all in check.

Which is kind of weird in that.........

I haven't been given a pay amount yet for the mechatronics job but designing machines to kill people would trouble me. The actual machines by themselves are fascinating from a mechanical design POV.

vsalon is fun, but you don't know the definitions or applications of many of the words you use.

There are 3 sets of rules here: founders/ mods, you and us. You serve your purpose, but your inability to think and reason cogently severely compromises the appeal of the salon, particularly to those of us of a certain age with disposable income to purchase bikes represented here.

Okay, I'm ready to get this one off the ground today. It's Thursday.

First-world problems... I just got my new frame back from the powder-coater last night, and I can't start building it up until Sunday afternoon. And in looking at the paint job... It's funny that two bolt holes that are right next to each other, one was masked, the other not. Gotta take it to where I can get those things tapped out again. Bugger.

My grump today is personal and disgusting, so if you're offended by body secretions, move along.

A few years ago I developed allergies in the spring. Thanks, now when the weather is about to pop and the good riding is here, I feel like a bag of assholes. I have these ginormous sneezing attacks that shoot 3-5" snot strings out of my nose. The other day at work someone asked me if my glasses were cracked...not it was dried snot.

Don't even want to get into the sharting that such sneeze-force can cause.
