Get Your Grump on Thursdays - Was (What's chapping my @ss today?)

Just returned from the Dr's Office - may have to cancel my HoH plans in 2 weeks. Bummer.

I'll also include a grump for my co-worker who's stuck in the elevator not 10 feet from my office. I only have to listen to the incessant binging, he's got to deal with that plus being stuck in a box.

Forum spammers. As one of the crew that approves new users, I sort through the requests to determine who's a legit human being and who is not. We've been getting slammed with spam lately. This morning I went through 35 requests to find 4 real people (and welcome to you!). Just now I reviewed 8 and approved 1.

Fed Ex. No delivery yesterday due to "local weather delay". Hey guys, the bad weather was the day before yesterday! Your customers can tell the difference.

What chaps my ass today is having expectations for 12 year olds. I gave a project that lasted a week and weekend. They did all their work in class with me so I can combat the procrastination and "I forgot" crap I hear so often.

One of my students didn't do much and on Monday he received an F grade. I sat with him, showed him on the rubric where he lost points, offered him the rest of this week to finish the project with my help, and then got to hear two days after I emailed his mom that I was picking on him because he was black.

His step brother is in the same class even defended me to his step mom.

I had to explain to my principal in detail what happened. Then had students questioned to support my side.

The annoyance is pretty consistent. I hate it when one gets through, but we've got this great tool that not only deletes the post & the thread, but bans the offending user forever. It's kinda satisfying in a violent-videogame kinda way. Die Spammer Die.

For starters, I'm all for adding to the collection of tools. 2nd, I'm really sure it'll be worth it when it's all said and done but geeeezuuu chri Campy did you have to design a crankset fixing bolt (Athena 11 speed) that requires a gawd damn non off the shelf flip'n 14mm Hex Bit...., really?????? C'mon now!!!!!!!!!

I just made the entirely reasonable and grown up decision to put off buying a new bike for at least another year (despite my bonus staring me in the face) and just ordered some wheels instead. My grump is that now I can't look in the Vsalon gallery for a while without getting jealous.

The overwhelming acceptance of mediocrity (and less)...software project at work, new software is slow to respond and locks-up. IT doesn't want to hear it and wants me to sign off. Sorry for being a prick IT, but the thing is not ready. Held my ground and IT bumped-up resources on the virtual server. BIG difference in performance. Had to fight for it...seriously?

No riding this past weekend due to lower back spams that reduced me to a writhing, moaning, fetal position lump on the floor.

Yesterday, I got off work early. Decided to go to the nearby Italian deli for a panini. Sat in plaza nearby and enjoyed the day eating my scrumptious panini. Get in my car to drive home and I'm cruising down a side street top down. Old fart turns left across my lane near intersection. Cuts corner off in a major way. I'm slowing for intersection anyway, no big deal right? Wrong. Eighty year old old fuck pulls up alongside me and screams "Why don't you just keep driving and hit me?" I say, " excuse me, but you cut off the corner." He replies, "You're an asshole. You're a piece of shit".

What the effing eff? You screwed up. Don't complain to me cuz I didn't slam on my brakes so I could bash my face into the steering wheel to give you extra berth. I wish I'd dragged his wrinkly ass out of the car and tossed him on the sidewalk. I expect that shit from a twenty year old, but not an eighty year old.

I'm late and I'll do my pushups. I grew up as a punk in a town in Germany where we fought skinheads daily. I hate pop music and pop culture in general.

I love the new Justin Timberlake album but I'm embarrassed to tell anyone cause I think it will destroy what small street cred I have left.

I will do my push-ups as well and will buy some girl scout cookies this weekend.

I have nothing to be grumpy about but just remembered convertible cars and people who ride with the top down while wearing a dam visor - tennis player or black jack dealer?
