Every Osa picture is a chance for me to talk about an Osa picture with my kids. So, thanks for that.
Aw, that's sweet !!!
Here's an Osa story for them:
Looks like carp don't wash out the first round.
I was fishing most of the afternoon with no luck when the rod just bends and I grab it and line just starts peeling off the reel.........it's back and forth for quite awhile until I start seeing some gold flashes between runs - it's a really big carp.
Osa just loves fishing, she wants to check them out really bad, wants lick them and stare at them and this fish was so big on 6lb line that I had to let it swim in circles right in front of the bank to tire it out enough to release it easily and Osa is just freaking at this fish swimming right in front of her, barking and making generally non-dog noises.
Finally, I get it right up to the bank and stay myself (my balance of of the wheelchair is tippy at best) and get a thumb in the carp's mouth and haul it onto the grass and it's longer then Osa.
So, of course I want a picture of it to show how big it is, but it's super slick and well over two feet long, and I can't hold it out of the frame by my thumb, it's just too big, so I try to cradle it with my hand under it's belly nice & gentle in front of the dog and I have it all lined up and Osa just snaps and tackles us both backwards, luckily not into the river but just into the mud, and I have the carp in my arms like a child and it's just flailing and washing me with mud and carp slime and it flops into the river and just sits there covered with water, moving it's fins, getting orientated, as am I, and the dog is standing there pointing at it like a damn purebred or something and I'm tell her "No shit - I had the damn thing until you tackled us."
D. wasn't sure of this until I showed her my shirt covered with slime, which was confiscated and thrown in the wash, and thusly washed.
Where I just recovered it, slime intact.
A public service announcement.
