The guy who quit on me for his dream job is back. The new position, it turns out, was too good to be true.
And we just started the disciplinary process against my worst employee. He lied to me about lying to me just now. This is going to suck, and be totally worth the effort.

Back from our anniversary dinner, I had possibly the best meal of my life with amazing service to boot. And at a place just a few miles from our house that we drive past daily and never knew was there. I'm stuffed, happy, and hoping the 2 old fashioneds, wild boar, french fries and creme fraiche give me enough energy for tomorrow's ride.

Yesterday and last night was rough. I felt like I was in a prang. Today is good. Its start of the holiday for us and a time to play lots of rock n roll, grill, pool party and most importantly remember the guys who didn't make it back and to achknowledge the hole in history as a result.
Off to spend the weekend with my mother-in-law. It'll be my first visit since her husband's funeral, and my daughter's first weekend with her Nana in a year. Plus I get my 6 hours of one-on-one time with my kid on the drive.
Spent yesterday pursuing my other useless passion under almost ideal conditions - imagine a pleasant 50 mile ride that feels like it's all slightly downhill with a tailwind.
I'll go for a pleasant spin today in the slight chill yesterday's wind brought in and enjoy the crisp air and skies. And, as Jonathan said, remember those who made my useless lifestyle possible.
My daughter’s health is doing great, getting ready for HS graduation, F’n Lupus at bay.
Great weather, dinner & movie tonight with my beautiful wife (sounds simple, but with the year we’ve had so far, it’s big), a new job opportunity is suddenly showing up, and I’ve been riding a bunch too!
It’s all good! BUT i’m also aware how fast things can go south…so I’m enjoying the GOOD while it’s here!
My oldest graduates from high school Sunday, our 250 pound baby boy is growing up. Party is planned and we're ready, for the most part.
I was contacted by a recruiter yesterday about a position I am actually interested in learning more about. Excited and flattered although I really like my current job and boss so I sort of feel like I'm cheating on someone.
My shoulder is feeling good, easy workout with band, light kettle bell and jump rope yesterday and my arm did not fall off.
Please keep in mind those that paid the ultimate price as you celebrate this weekend, hooah.

there is no better way to start the day than a salt bagel and a moto ride to the office on a cool morning.
First race of the season tomorrow. Not totally sure if that's a good thing or not, feeling a little jittery and pretty excited. I guess we'll know around 10am tomorrow!

The recent flooding in Texas has put our field in a holding pattern. It'll be a while before we know more. I guess it's a Thursday Grump/Friday Suck-it all wrapped up in one.
Straight up Friday Suck-it: Track races tonight. In an otherwise mediocre year for my cycling, track racing has kept me sane and maintained my enthusiasm for the sport. Racing at night under floodlights is just plain cool.
