Broad Necked Root Borer. Unfortunately chews on Oak tree roots. But native bug and not invasive. Another Longhorn beetle. This one came running up to greet us when we walked out of the house. About 1.5" long. Chunky.

But as folks say, they all play a part in the "circle of life" ecosystem, and if it weren't for human intervention I bet everything would be nicely settled in a comfortable equilibrium.

It's August. One of those guys kept shouting through the whole performance of the Philly Orchestra up at SPAC last weekend. Totally drowned out the orchestra .

The small pond in the atrium sculpture just let loose hundreds of mayflies. They are all over the glass windows outside. I need some trout! Nature never misses an opportunity.
