The Picolli Gioielli marque began with my desire to have something evocative of a label that might appear on a perfume bottle (French, by the way) and use elements of maybe Eisenhower era graphics. I mean, these are dropouts for Christ's sake, and the logo had to work with little cast parts, and the little cast parts had to work with the logo.
The Fragrance Of Framebuilding

Happy Birthday Mr Sachs!!!
Happy Birthday Richard!!!
Do you mean "paradigm shiFt"?
If "we all gotta start somewhere" and the "somewhere" where you started ain't there, well, there you are. School replaces internship. As a consumer, I have to sort of follow the market (buy from an established builder with a good rep) or be skilled enough to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Richard, a quick question about your team issue cx frames - what fork crown do you use? Also, do you build the frame with OS tubing? And finally, depending on the crown, are you using 1" or 1 1/8" steer tubes? I am beginning to plan my assault for the 2013 CX season and will be building a new single speed frame and was curious about team frames. Thanks.
Jonathan
What I learned (or re-learned, actually) at NAHBS 2013: There has never been a picture of a Sachs bike that does justice to what they look like in the flesh. Not even close.

"Après un bref calcul basé sur le nombre d'inscrits sur la liste d'attente de Richard Sachs, entre le moment où je vais commander mon cadre et celui où je l'aurai entre les mains, il faudra en moyenne 3 à 5 ans... et si c'était ça le vrai luxe?"
Hum....
