Estate/Will/Trust planning - this shit plus life insurance makes me feel old - but piece of mind for my little ones and significant other
Re: Get Your Grump on Thursdays - Was (What's chapping my @ss today?)
Ortho okayed me to ride on my broken elbow as soon as I "feel comfortable". Rode to work this morning and it was the extreme opposite of comfortable. I think I'll give it a few more days.

This is a "suck it, grumps" comment. You just don't know it yet.

I do not have enough to build a dynasty for future generations but I would sure rather have what is left after my demise go to relatives rather than taxes.

I know what you mean. Digging a hole 10 paces to my coastal oak and then hauling all that gold and conferderate money up the hill does make me feel old too.

Making me think it's Thursday when it's only Monday.

For those that haven't done it, the will/trust/estate planning is important but the hassles and heartache you will save your loved ones by having a power of attorney and health care proxy in place are even more important for many many many of us.

It's almost Thursday here, so that's good enough...
After 13 weeks, I got my car back today:

So why am I grumping? It pulls to the left (which has already had 2 attempts at being sorted, which makes me fear it is something more serious), the grille is the wrong one and, when I went back to the crash repair place to speak to them about the pulling, a spare parts delivery driver opened his door onto it and dented it.
Holy cow...
Re: Get Your Grump on Thursdays - Was (What's chapping my @ss today?)
That's extremely annoying, on all accounts. Your insurance company should be able to help if the crash repairer is being difficult.

4 flats (all different causes) and a valve failure on this morning's ride. I used both spare tubes, all my patches and still needed to flag someone down and beg for an extra tube just to get home. It's basically my last year's worth of flats in a single day. I was out for 3 hours and managed 1:30 of actual ride time. Grumble, grumble.

People who make phone calls in restaurants piss me off. People who make calls on speaker the speaker in restaurants should be removed. I'm 100% serious about this too. Not joking. I wish a restaurant manager would show some spine and walk these people out.

Unfortunately, it hits a bit close to home. My grandfather was re-admitted to the hospital on Sunday. My mother is flying up to see him today. I can only hope that everything is as well planned as that article.
I'm on two projects at work that are horribly mismanaged. How can you manage a project if you don't know when the product is going to be delivered to the client?! Our already rushed schedule has been bumped up six weeks because someone didn't read the contract.
I'm stressing. Which means I'm grinding my teeth in my sleep. Which means I'm stressing about the damage I'm doing to my teeth. It's too bad Serotta is out of business. There's going to be a dentist with money burning a hole in their pocket soon.
Edit: yeah, I'll drop and do 10 tonight.

Sometimes a like is better than a rant. It is a hard learned lesson which I am still working on.
Re: Get Your Grump on Thursdays - Was (What's chapping my @ss today?)
just had gum grafting surgery this morning to relocate hard tissue from the roof of my mouth to where it has diminished across the tops of some of my teeth.
the most bothersome part so far...i have an itch where my face is still numb from the novocaine, and my face can't feel any of my efforts to itch it! so it still itches!
oh, and i suppose im grumpy about the immense amount of pain i'm going to feel for a week + the largely liquid diet + the large amount of blood i keep swallowing/spitting up.

Retired people. One of the guys that retired a couple of years ago gets a lunch together every once in a while. He sends an email apologizing for doing it on a Monday because it's the only time he can fit it in his schedule. Actually, that's not too bad... a packed schedule in retirement is a good thing I guess. No, it's the guy that replies he can't make it because... wait for it... he's on vacation. You're on vacation from being retired? NFW. Do you guys have any idea exactly how jealous I am of that concept? Any idea?

Does that mean he's at work?

Being retired IS work! <insert snarky smile>
