Ben Frost. He did the soundtrack for "Dark", the series on Netflix. Interesting.

I could share a lot more from the series, but I'd be seriously spoiling things.
Instead, I'll post the following. See if you spot something.

Steel guitar? Or whatever the broken rattly plucked string notes are from.

Also, what's up with Ariel Pink. Glad I was immune to my local record store's promotions. They loved that guy in Silver Lake.
This was great atmo.

I dig much Ariel Pink music, but share anyone's distaste for his presence (according to my roommate, anyway) at the 1/6 Capitol event. I also have long loved music by John Maus, one who was once part of Ariel Pink's band, as I still do.
Anyway, I'm currently listening to Cut Copy's album "Bright Like Neon Love". I almost called that an oldie. Time is a strange thing.
It's the intro theme to Dark. Title of song is "Goodbye", by Apparat in collaboration with Soap&Skin. The same track was also used in Breaking Bad (a show I've seen thrice).
Soap&Skin has also one other contribution to Dark. Song title might be a spoiler, depending on where you are.
The whole series has some great music selection, and the musical montages are top notch as well
Sounds like Apparat et al sampled the plucked string triplets from Frost's Gravity of Numbers and layered it underneath the piano as a background. Sort of a musical pun.
One of my favorite albums is an Apparat and Ellen Allien collaboration called Orchestra of Bubbles. Chronogramatic musical constructions.
Watching and listening... cause this guy can hit ‘em. Bloody hell.

New Dawn Fades is one of my favorite songs. It's always in rotation.
That drum video is great. I'm staying away.. I'll loose more time on those than I do here.
