Get Your Grump on Thursdays - Was (What's chapping my @ss today?)

I was about to go buy a Jeep with a plow for my driveway... then the line from the house to the septic tank broke. $1200 later the Jeep fund is depleted. And I took off work last Wednesday so my fireplace installer could come install a gas stove/fireplace and never showed, or called me back. 2 month wait for an installer to come up to my house now.

I was 1/2 way into my fasting for a Chest CT scan this afternoon when the imaging clinic called saying that my insurance company didn't authorize the scan.

Have not ridden in 9 days. 8 days I was sick. Now that I feel better (although absolutely stoned all day from Mucinex and Sudafed), the little one wants to start waking up at 5:00 AM to eat breakfast.

Road rash sucks. t sucks even more in winter, i particular on the knee when you have to wear tights.

Fatherhood is exhausting, especially when it comes during the busiest time of the year for work...

This isn't a grump so much as a statement - if anyone reading this works for a long-term disability insurance company, I hope you get home tonight to find that your wife has left you for your best friend, all your bikes are smashed to pieces in the front yard, your teenage daughter is pregnant, your house needs a new roof, etc, etc, etc. Anything short of actively wishing bodily harm on someone, since that is effectively your job, and I don't want to stoop to that level.

I fly into an insane rage when the bathroom at work is closed for cleaning.

I don't own clothing that will allow me to ride outside in the current ND weather (this will get taken care of soon).

I made Mac n' Cheese for workmates and it's bubbling in a pot next to me and we don't eat for another 30 mins. My will power is weak.

Merchants who ship uPS cross country when they could use USPS priority for 1/2 the cost and 1/2 the time.

Another in the grand scheme of life not a big deal but…..

County/State strips perfectly good (mostly) and smooth pavement, then the paving contractor lays down pavement thats less than smooth, especially noticeable when riding a bicycle.

At one project last year I found a county inspector, sitting in his truck. Told the fellow that they were doing a piss poor job. He looked at me dumb, total waste of 2 minutes.

Hey, I live in a county where they can't even build a safe parking garage for a 100 million US dollars, so shitty new pavement should be expected. At least it's dark gray.

Maybe it's time to take a stab at local politics…….screw that, I'm a lousy bullshiter.

Time to go outside and reflect on more important things in life.

The next prick that responds to a question about when they can get something done with, "I'm really swamped", is going to get throat chopped.
