Re: Photo Storage Services
Flickr. It has changed in various ways but it is still the easiest to manage.
Not sure why you don’t use the image sync through iCloud. That isn’t a hosting service but it is very stable these days. I like that camera images show up on my phone after I load them into Photos on my laptop. And vice versa. I set my desktop to archive full sized image files from iCloud, then back up that computer religiously. So no matter where I take the image, a full sized copy ends up on my desktop machine and then gets backed up every other night. Plenty of redundancy.
But anyway, Flickr just works. Very easy. Get pro. Costs money but whatever. It works.
Re: Photo Storage Services
I use iCloud to store and backup as well and Imgur: The magic of the Internet to post photos, but Imgur has now eliminated the mobile posting feature, which means that you can only post to a forum like VSalon via your PC or laptop. Maybe I'll take a look at Flickr.
Re: Photo Storage Services
I am a little more advanced than average and use Smugmug. Never an issue and great customer service if you've question. Cost is worth it. At least you know they will not go Photobucket on you.
Re: Photo Storage Services
Smugmug now owns Flickr. Unfortunately an old Oath rights permission form still pops up when you log out of and then back into Flickr. You can just click “do later” and not agree to anything, but Smugmug should get rid of that.
I’ve been using Flickr since 2005? and while I haven’t liked all the changes none of them have made it worse in function and some have made it better. That’s like batting 1.000 for a tech company. Usually they do their best to ruin everything.
Re: Photo Storage Services
I've been a long time paid flickr user, but my Pixel 3 came with unlimited backup to google photos and it's been quite nice. There doesn't seem to be a direct option to create html or bbs image links, but that's my only gripe so far.
I was only iphone for 12+ years, but that's one pixel feature that I've found much easier and more useful than icloud or whatever apple had.

Re: Photo Storage Services
Another vote for Flickr.
Somehow made it from Blackberry to today, through Yahoo and Oath, without breaking.
I went ahead and gave them money this year, first time I’ve paid for it - using since ‘06. Worth it.

Same here. Been using it forever with no issues.
Re: Photo Storage Services
I've been using postimage.org ever since Photobucket orphaned all the free users, but I'm hardly what one might call a "power user" (or even a "power archiver") so I'm not really using it enough to expose any potential shortcomings.
Re: Photo Storage Services
If this image shows up for everyone then Amazon Photos works. I have never tried using it to share before.

Nope
Re: Photo Storage Services
Thanks. It showed for me in preview and here in the posting when I posted but now I don't even see it.
Amazon Photos does not work for sharing to the forum.
