Direct Mount Brake Mounts/Braze-Ons?
Hey all! I've been poking around the web looking for mounts for direct mount brakes & have yet to find any.
How do y'all setup direct mount brakes for your builds?
What parts do you source for it, and how do you setup the spacing?

I'm really curious as to how that works out; I imagine it's probably a similar process to canti/v brake stud setup, but different spacing.
Thanks so much!

Ah, okay! I checked PMW before making this post, but couldn't find them on the website.
I looked around the "Brake Mount" section & didn't see anything, unless they're the same mounts as the canti mounts without the brake rings?
Hope I'm not being a pain, I'm very much unknowing & want to understand more for a few builds I have planned!

"U" brakes use a spigot similar to Cantis but larger diameter with no spring holes.
I've never held the brake pictured, but seeing the spring adjuster nut I'd guess that it's be the same as other "U" models.
I think I got these form Nova, actually - I built a U model to replace the canti model in purple

Re: Direct Mount Brake Mounts/Braze-Ons?
Compass sells the Diacompe brake bosses. I have modified round canti bosses to use with MAFAC centerpulls. The difference from canti bosses being the length and spring hole position. Not sure what the direct mount brakes bosses are like, but imagine some fabrication might be required. I also suspect they share some dimensions with canti bosses.
It seems to me that the bosses with a fixed stud and round bases might be the easiest to adapt. CANTI AND "U" BRAKE BOSSES :: STEEL SMALL PARTS :: BRAZON/SMALL PARTS :: Nova Cycles Supply Inc.
$1.30/pr can't be beat.

Direct Mount is a different standard to cantis, u-brakes and the Mafacs. Never seen it mounted on studs so long before though.

thanks for that! - looks like bosses with M6 threads, put 49 mm apart, and you're set. The stand off must be so the brake pads clear the frame's stays. Mounted too close, on a road bike with narrow crown and stays, you'd have collision with the pads hitting the stays and not opening enough?

If I'm reading that right it's an 8mm spigot with 6mm threads, yeah?
Like this?

Re: Direct Mount Brake Mounts/Braze-Ons?
I don't think Paragon makes anything useful, because the pivot itself looks like it must be a shoulder bolt with 8mm OD and 6x1mm threads that comes with the brake. But someone that has seen the brakes could confirm. The base of the Paragon bosses have larger threaded hole than that. I wish they made a boss like this because of flat mount front brakes.
