I will be in Chicago next week with my wife for 6 of 7 days. I will have a bicycle, insatiable appetite, love of booze and a pocket full of moneys.
If anyone is around I will be staying up on michigan in the Gold Coast district, I think that is what they call it. Would love to meet the locals.
I'll jump on this ship too, I'll be floating through town on thursday night, friday all day, and saturday all day.
I'd be game for a high five and a beer(s), rowdy.
Lucky for you there is a lot to eat and drink here.
Hit me up if you want to ride. My work days are pretty long so I can't really do anything those days. Luckily there aren't that many of them. Here's my schedule coming up Saturday August 9, Tuesday the 12th, Monday the 18th. Not a bad gig really.

As for the booze and food, get a bit more specific and I'll list some of my favorites. You a whiskey drinker? A gin-man? A beer fiend? Chicago's got it all.

as far as food goes, pretty much anything ethnic with exception of Mexican. I love Mex but have plenty of that here. I live in a small town, so our ethnic food is less than diverse. I am sure at least a good Italian restaurant, then some sort of Asian, Indian, whatever. No meat and three, would give a good solid American food place a go. Not picky at all about food as long as it is good. I will eat anything that is good.
My wife is really into whiskey, and i am a beer man. However, yet again we will give anything a go.
Might be nice to throw out an evening, come up with a place and see who might be able to show up.
Down to ride whenever, my only experience with riding in that area was Downers Grove when the national crit was there. So not at all familiar, but if there is a good ride that leaves out, i can dig it.
There is great Italian, Indian, and Thai. I'm not sure if there is on place ethnic food and great beer and whiskey. Do the you want to leave the gold coast? If you want Indian then heading up to Devon avenue is well worth it. If you want to make a vsalon night then maybe dinner then a bar is a good idea.
Wednesday: Go to the intersection of California and Lincoln at the Dunkin' Donuts at 6:30 PM for a good, hard ride through the north 'burbs. Ride back to the hotel after sharing a six pack with the locals in the parking lot of a crap bodega. Those High Lifes will replenish.
I'd join up, but I'm working downstate all week.
Other stuff: go to the Half Acre tasting room and taste and walk over to Fountainhead for more brews and good food. All reasonably-priced.
The old lady is ditching me today/tonight. I'm up for anything.
If anyone wants to do a crack-of-dawn ride on Sunday, I'm going to try and sneak a few hours in before a family christening.
