Hey Guy - Are you on Instagram? It would be cool to check out more of your pics. I post some here: https://www.instagram.com/indianpeaksjoe/
Cheers,

Hey Joe!
No instagram at the moment. My SO teases me I'm waiting for an anti-social network...
I'm just slowly building a body of work, but it's not really ready to put up. It's going to be at guywashburnphoto.com, but that's just a placeholder for now... I'm starting to make some progress on photo things, but house project stuff continues to be a huge time sync. Soon though...
Thanks so much for your interest!
I was once like you, not using Twitter or Instagram. But it's a fun way to just share pics. Also I now have an audience for dog pictures...
Hook it up Guy!

Wide thing you make my heart sing...
Something to brighten the day (given that we lose an hour to the evil daylight savings time:
1. Halo Photography
2. Handmade paper negatives
Guy, what camera and lens are you using? Digital? SLR? Full frame? The amount of detail and contrast is fantastic.
I have never felt the need to give a mountain a halo. I don't often find natural beauty enhanced by drones.
I experimented with printing on hand made japanese gampi paper a while back. Beautiful material, but I was generally convinced in the end it would be better used for pen and ink or watercolor. For my work it seemed odd to struggle for sharpness and long scale only to toss it away in the print. If you are shooting with a Helga, hand held by candle light it might be a much better fit...
Stuck here in Chicago, there just isn't that much to photograph that is restful the way the countryside is. The closest I've seen is when people try to make the ugly buildings a little less ugly

or when I can abstract them somehow
