Default Whatīs the best steel bridge for Pinionīs Gearbox

    Hello out there

i like to design build and cycle bikes for my live. Most loved in steel

Actual iīm verry interested in Pinionīs Gearbox. Not only in a clasic but in a cargobike frame.
At first i took a look at the original OEM bridge from Pinion. Later i searched for other or different solutions, to find out which one is the best for a cargo bike.
There is no big amount of bridges from the component suppliers. So, al lot of german bike builders create their own bridges.
But no one made a "Pinion-donkey" so far

The OEM bridge from Pinion is a drop forged part. But unfortunately a bit small at the rear end. It should be not so easy to connect the chainstays

because i want to have bigger tires (up to 2,3"). I gues thatīs the reason why so many bike builders made one ones.
They are often made out of laser cuted an welded CrMo sheet. I did not saw any CNC milled bridges. Probably because of the costs.

Does anyone of all these great bike builders have experience with Pinion Bridges? May be someone even compaired different solutions on stiffnes, pros and cons and other aspects

What do you think about the original bridge?

    Iīm excited.

I collected a bunch of gearbox bridges in Steel and wrote down my thoughts about them
    Here are three basic layouts:

This is a version of laser cuted sheets weldet together.
Pro: easy to build, easy to straighten after weld and benefical for wather and moisture (can run through the console)
    Con: probably heavy

A version (alike the OEM Version) made out of one single CrMo sheet. I guess it is drop forged
i can not realy imagine a hydro formed production, but im not sure.
Pro: looks definitely better in my mind, probably better covered for harsh weather. No corners for dirt and dust on top. Purchased part
Con: probably not as stiff as a construction with massive rails on the side and binders between (like sollution above)
Mud and moisture can come from downside and gather between gearbox and bridge

solution may be made from a milled block i guess. (in a aluminium version, without much doubt, made from extusion)
Pro: closed top side, relative light, construction can be more special. (to areas who need more flesh and more stiffness
Con: as milled part much expensive

I saw this glorious part from Paragon made in titanium. Beautiful ! But i think the costs in steel are probably the same at low amount.

So what soloution would be your choice for the best middle ground?
