    Default Terror of Teaberry

Friendly PSA that the Terror of Teaberry MTB race is next week in beautiful Michaux State Forest, right across the MD line into PA.

If you don't know, it's miles and miles of technical single track with some logging roads for a reprieve. Hope to see some of you all there.

Thanks Joe for the heads up. I love riding that region.

It's awesome, especially if you know where you are going. On that topic, Gettysburg Bike shop has some gpx files posted on their site. Come up for a ride sometime!

One of the hardest races I ever did...and that was 20 years ago. Now that I'm older...

That's a tough race, I haven't done it in about 10 years. I think it is the hardest of the 3 races at Michaux, the other 2 being Michaux Maximus, and The Curse of Dark Hollow.

I tend to agree though I think the courses of the 20 and 30 mile courses have changed. Mile for mile, the 10 miler is pretty relentless ... and it's a 12 miler.

I did 20 miles Curse of Dark Hollow this year on a humid day. That was stupid hard.

That was always one thing I hated about their series. Hitting mile 21 in a 20 mile race and seeing a sign saying 3 miles to go really sucked.

Yeah, the last 3 miles of the Dark Hollow 20 miler were the longest 5 miles of my life :-)

I think the spring race was the toughest...it was usually 40 degrees and raining, and an entirely new drivetrain and brake pads were needed after the finish.
"As an homage to the EPOdays of yore- I'd find the world's last remaining pair of 40cm ergonomic drop bars.....i think everyone who ever liked those handlebars in that shape and in that width is either dead of a drug overdose, works in the Schaerbeek mattress factory now and weighs 300 pounds or is Dr. Davey Bruylandts...who for all I know is doing both of those things." - Jerk
