Fun weekend with the BRI team down there. I found this thread looking for photos. A couple corrections on previous posts- 1) the second water stop at the store was not available because the store had burned down 4 months ago. Not a week before. That represented some very poor planning on the organizer's behalf. For some riders who don't push that hard on the daily this made the ride super difficult. We were able to get water from a neighbor but no additional food. 2) I think the selfish rider comment was made towards me. We waited for our team at the top of every climb. The wait periods became longer and longer and once we were all out of water and food we told our guys via text that we were going to go all the way back for the van and come get them. We assumed that they were in serious trouble since we had waited a total of about 1.25 hrs on the road, then 2 hours after we finished. Unfortunately we couldn't find the hidden van keys when we got back and the boys had texted to say that they found water and they would walk when needed but they'd make it.

Our moving time was just over 7 hours. I took a ton of pics and put some on Insta under user @Grabau if anyone wants to see.

Alex, that is the exact place our guy Steve crashed. Glad you were OK and able to finish.

Your man Oscar saved our bacon the morning of the race. I did a bonehead move and left the ignition on all night, killing our car's battery. We'd never have made it without a jump, and the awesome Roti van's cables were still brand new! Thanks for lending a hand and getting us going.

That Alan Supercross is off the hook. I love that the paint echoes the classic screwed-and-glued Alans.

    Cheers, Todd.

PS Did you race mountain bikes in New England back in the 90's?

Todd I wonder what was on the road there? I did a very quick post-crash recon and it just seemed dusty. The bike was just swept out from under me. Never experienced anything like that save for on snow or ice.
You guys stayed right next to us on the mountain. I didn't put two and two together earlier. I did see the MA plates though. Yes, same guy. I raced MTB from like 1994 to 2000.

Thanks about the Alan. I have two and I was attracted to them for the same reason. Cool bike and it fits me well.
