    Default Finish Line Tire Sealant

Has anyone used their new stuff? Any reason it wouldn't be compatible with latex tubulars?

Tech Support at Finish Line wasn't picking up the phone today.

I'm not sure it's actually available yet. Sounds like it's worth a try. I pre-ordered some. We'll see.

What I've read about it sounds great. Too good to be true actually. I'll try some when it's available for sure....if it does what they say they'll end up owning the market.

Mine is showing as shipped, but it might take a while to get here. Interested to see how it performs with the -10C/15F temps we are seeing still. Have a brand new Pumpkin Ridge (650x42 knobby) waiting to go on a DT rim.

Quality Bikes has it in stock. I'll have some in a few days.

Finish Line generally makes good stuff. I'm willing to bet it works as advertised.

Got the sealant in. I put some in a Latex tube, no issues overnight. It does contain propylene glycol (as does Stan’s) which is a mild solvent, so it might not last forever/weaken the tube. I will mount up the pumpkin ridge tonight.

A gent over at Paceline has a post where he's initially had trouble with the product weeping through tire walls and not holding pressure. It looks like things have settled down a bit for him after a week...not sure if it's the product, tires, rims, etc.

Certain Schwalbes do this. And if I remember correctly, most people were successful with a warranty claim on the tire.

I'd like to try out a jug; perhaps after I finish out my current stock.

Any first hand reviews? This review didn't go as planned.

Been running it for two months with no issues so far on WTB's. Not much of a review but I guess that means it's working. Maybe it's my superior tire choice over the reviewer? Or perhaps my incredibly smooth style and genius choice of lines? My guess is that is a combination of all of the above.

Go put a few nails through the tires and see if it works.

I made some of the 'homebrew' sealant a while back, worked great. I put a deck screw through a tire and it sealed it up instantly, rode the tire till I wore it out.

It works as advertised so far.

I"ve got about 200 miles on them running about 20 psi.

Prolly change tyres in about 4 months to see how the solution is holding up but so far it's as good as the rest.

No issues thus far on my Compass Pumpkin Ridge nor my 25mm Vittoria Corsa Speed Open TLRs. Both seated and sealed fine. I haven't hit a large nail or screw with either yet then, but at that point it's kind of up to a Dynaplug.

That's the thing with sealant, you really don't know how well it works until you get a puncture.

Yes, but at least no weeping that others have complained about and the tires are holding pressure overnight. In both setups one tire has Stan's race and the other Finish Line. So I should have a good idea of how it performs at 30 psi and 90 psi.

When I had WTB Riddlers on the gravel bike, the sidewalls wept Stan's. The Panaracer Gravel Kings haven't done that and I'm on my second set and still using Stan's.

Finish Line Sealant review - Mtbr.com
I saw that review just after iíd ordered it! Then i saw a Bike Rumor you tube clip showing it sealing holes in a MTB tyre so i thought iíd give it a go. New Finish Line Tubeless Tire Sealant will never dry out* - Bikerumor

Then, this thread make me think road tyres are at quite a bit higher pressure, so i should actually test it myself.

Rims are November bicycle RCG 36 and tyres are Schwalbe Pro One 28. They installed and seated without sealant but lost pressure overnight. So i stuck the sealant in and the held pressure. No dramas there.

Since then theyíve spent a couple of months in the cupboard, in the dark.

I just bought 5 sets of nails from 1mm (technically thatís tiny) up to 1.6mm (technically thatís pretty big). I overinflated the tyre to 80psi as i guess that is what iíd be using that on 25s.

Punctured with the 1mm nail. Nothing. No sealant. No attempt to seal the hole. Just an old fashioned flat.

Stans sealed a hole from a bigger nail in my wifeís tyre to the point neither of us knew it was there, and when i found it and pulled it out it also just sealed the hole with no drama. Tomorrow iíll see what it can do with fresh sealant, but not having to do that was kind of the point of trying this stuff.

Then i found an update review...Finish Line Tubeless Tire Sealant check in - still liquid, but lifetime claim dries up - Bikerumor

Which kind of squares with what iíve seen. Stans hasnít really been a hassle, and it definitely works, so if this stuff doesnít last why switch? I think iíve just convinced myself to ditch further testing and buy more Stans!

Try Orange Seal. I like it better than Stan's. Seems to last a bit longer, and it's thicker and seems to handle bigger holes better.

After using a host of sealants, my go to is Orange Seal and Orange Seal Endurance.
Does it dry out? sure. Easy to use and works? Yes.

How do you find the Endurance? I was drawn to that and then read a review somewhere saying you had to use a tonne of it to actually seal a hole. I ended up buying the vanilla Orange Seal. Haven't used it though.

Stans hasn't given me the drying out problems I expected, nor the boogers. I'm not sure about mixing sealants and there has been nothing to force me to strip down these wheels and start again.

I also tried some Orange tubeless valves for this these wheels but couldn't get them to seal. Now I see I might need to do the lockring up with a spanner. So more than likely user error put me off Orange...i'll stick some in these wheels and see how we go, so thanks for the recommendation.
