    Perhaps he's channeling Fiorenzo Magni

Telegraph podcast crew saying quite a bit about how courteous the cars were to Nibali after his puncture. I know there's a tradition of using the cars (Nico Mattan) but perhaps those friendly drivers could make Astana send at least a few teammates back to help?

Typical race strategy, when you have a mechanical like this it is better to stay alone as you are normally given the right to get back in the car instead if you have team mates waiting for you in that case cars cannot be used as you are a "group". So this was actually well played by Astana. A teammate was waiting for him at the end of the peloton to bring him back up.

I think they're allowing riders to use the cars more than they once did. (old man voice) I thought a domestique's job was to be with the leader at moments like this.

There was a semi-humorous (to viewers not Lotto-Jumbo riders, especially Kelderman, ten Dam and Gesink) moment yesterday when Lotto Jumbo team crashed before a round-a-bout. Trying to get their lead rider on a functioning bike, they all started handing bikes around, only all the bikes had something wrong with them. I think Kelderman's bike actually had the handlebars pivoted upside down in the stem.

Cavendish said he apologized to Tony Martin for effing up and getting 4th instead of 3rd.

Well that was unexpected. Three neutralization and now a full halt.

Nope, flat and straight. Picture 15 guys stacked like cord wood against a light pole.

Hey, ten Dam is still there. Eurosport fibbed. Suffice to say the entire medical staff following the tour were overwhelmed with serious injuries.

Per Lotto-Jumbo's twitter, ten Dam dislocated his shoulder and then popped it back into place before continuing on.

Stage 3 of Tour de France suspended after 2 serious crashes - SBNation.com

Article says the first crash was caused by Bonnet overlapping a wheel. Video is pretty clear on that one.

Seems like there was a second crash at the lead into the hill... they were worried that since all the medical care was at the first accident, a third accident would have meant no medical care....so they neutralized until the medical care was finished.

NBC... whatever ;-) The reason given for neutralizing the race is that the first crash was massive taking out 30+ riders and in case of another crash they would not have medical assistance.
