I don't really know if this hurts his reputation any. Just sort of makes sense.

I finally watched...noticed they're back to the VIAS bikes. Word is they don't like the brakes in the rain. Fun sprint. I enjoyed watching Cav win.

And Sagan is getting nearly zero help from Contador's team.

BTW, I think that's Paolini in the in-bike video above who gets a hand on the back from a teammate.
I would not be surprised- there has been stories about how the bike boys party hard... Even before tdf- gaumont wrote about it in his book etc

Sagan has been a revelation so far. Coming off of a surprise ToC win and then showing the ability to sprint with the big boys. This without any help from his team, surfing wheels remeniscent of McEwan. I think this is the Sagan we all thought we would see during the classics and he's finally found his place when the spotlight isn't on him.

    It's amazing that he's still under 25!

Right? They mentioned the white jersey and I thought, how the hell is he still eligible for that.

Hee man, you said my lead was untouchable. I already bought matching shorts to wear it proudly.

I really hope in 10 years time we are all marvelling at an incredible career that Sagan has had. He already has palmares that many would be happy with.

I thought it was a great finish. The run in was done at 60kph plus and all the super stars of road sprinting were lining up against each other. You can wax on about who is more deserving but ultimately the one who sprints his legs the fastest deserves the win.

It's not just legs, but brain and a bit of luck. And this is very true in this edition.

I like Paolini even more now. These are the dudes I would wanna hang with. It seems odd getting pinched for grass or booger sugar at the largest rolling bicycle party int the world, but to me it says, 'I am down to clown.' Even if you are the main event, and every one with a test needle is looking for you. Like Taylor Swift says, "all the players gonna play, play, play. All the haters gonna hate, hate, hate. All the bakers gonna bake, bake, bake, bake."

Interesting as Sagan matures what cycling pros he gets compared to. Early in his career when he was all sprints, he was a MacEwen, then a Cavendish and then he started to become a Cancellara or Zabel and now he is a Hushovd or Boonen.....

Seems like he is both following a path and re-inventing it. And as above, all this before 25. And he definitely is one of the best bike handlers (bordering on trials rider actually) in the peloton. Some of the moves I've seen in the final sprints to avoid other riders or move up in the group are pretty amazing. Almost as if he could move from bike to bike like some cowboy in a spaghetti western going from horse to horse.

But it still seems like he is missing that one piece, and I am not sure what it is, but I am pretty sure he is not going to get it at Tinkov.

I agree. I'd like to see Sagan find a mentor and put that last piece in place.

Great ride by Sagan today to finish fourth on that tough stage. There is the possibility he's not at Saxo next year and maybe he finds a place with a mentor....maybe like ETQS.

Don't know any team able /willing to match the 4 million euro's Sagan supposedly makes /year.
Who was the rider that came away with the cocaine positive defense as it being caused by oral sex with a prostitute?
