I honestly cannot see how you can determine he deliberately swung right in all that. Anyone who has ever had there front wheel caught will recognise every single little movement there. It was simple fatigue/reaction incident.

I have no idea what he would be trying to accomplish
by intentionally barging the riders in front, he had nothing
more to do for the stage. It was inside 1km, he teammate was
going off the front. What was Tony's "move"?

At first I thought the same thing about Martin, that it was intentional but now after watching it a few times and reading the accounts it does seem that he was trying to save himself. If you watch the replay closely you can see how hard Martin's front wheel "flicks" to the right of the E-car riders rear wheel.

If you want to see some real bumping and leaning in watch the contact between ???? and Degenkolb after the crash before the sprint winds up.

Edit: It wasn't Sagan rubbing with Degenkolb it was another rider with a white helmet.

I think the conspiracy folks have it wrong. You are wearing yellow which is a dream come true and worth thousands of Euros on future contracts each day you hold it. So , hummm I just wildly toss my bike over at a couple of guys and I am the only one that gets hurt while we are going probably as slow as we moved all day to help out exactly whom?. Yea that is the ticket. I really think there was a light wheel tap and he did whatever he thought he could do to save himself. It is not that hard to put somebody in the weeds and never go down if you want to ride dirty, but to cause yourself to fall in the middle of the road is crazy talk about dirty riding.

All the people reporting TM's front wheel was "caught", I do not see any moment overlapping and making contact. Got to find a video..
Today Geesink and Contador already down in the neutral zone. Don't know what's going on.

Having raced amatuer and done lots of group riding, there's no way this was intentional. I've seen intentional (a certain lead-out man's headbut) and this was not it. Much less the massive reason for why would he? He had just finished a massive effort, was dropping back, probably cross-eyed, and just wanted to finish upright and with the same time.

When you find one, watch the Eurosport rider. He ends up 2 feet over to the right after Martin detaches himself from the rear wheel.

You can see the two essential movements. The first shape is when his wheel taps the back wheel. Your body keeps going while the bike starts a slight movement off line. The second movement which is the most dramatic one is when the wheel is released from the back wheel and because the weight is all ready off centre it accelerates and hence is not usually recoverable. Think about when your riding no hands and how little body language can control the bike. It's tiny. No imagine getting the front wheel shoved a few inches out of line. It's a lot.

This video shows it a few times. There are two very distinct movements.....

also check out the shit going on in the bunch.......

No need to double down, you're lead in the contrarian jersey contest is untouchable.

I hate you. I just spit coffee all over my keyboard after reading your comment. Are you going to help me clean it up? Probably not.

Pretty nuts. Stupid fast run in. Made up for an uneventful stage.

1 and 3 on the podium today.

That's either complete stupidity or some sort of mix-up.

BTW, I think that's Paolini in the in-bike video above who gets a hand on the back from a teammate.

I'm assuming they'll request a test of the B-sample, but that link is straight from the UCI and it's being reported by all of the major outlets. But yes, taking cocaine during or immediately before a grand tour is all sorts of unintelligent.

Come on, guys, the signs were all there. I'm not sure how we didn't see it before.

Not very exciting IMO. Greipel opened up too soon, Cavendish took advantage of it. Sagan third after the excellent 2nd place the other day, he's in great shape and deserves a victory more than Cavendish does
