Default 2015 TdF - General Banter NO SPOILERS ALLOWED.

Pretty interesting TT to kick this off. I think the big boys are holding back.
This is going to be another incredible TDF, the route is nuts...in a good way.

Matt Rendell - yay or nay?

His delivery is a bit dry however I really like how well he steadily identifies riders in the peloton.

My thoughts exactly. Staccato, rapid-fire, whatever, not very easy on the ears.

While we're at it... someone could show CVV some tape and suggest that he finish one thought before starting another. I do like that he will vehemently disagree with Bob.

is it me or does there seem to be more crashes this year than in previous years. not sure what's the issue with these guys but they are making Cat 5's look good. LOL!!
I'm betting that I'm just abnormal enough to survive.

Got to love the Jens though, nothing but respect for that guy. It has been a crazytown first week. Wouldn't have thunk this up on my own in a zillion years. The Gorilla seems to have that little extra kick this year, but man Peter Sagan is Mr. Consistant. Kudos to the CX guy too, the Stybar just totally caught the boys napping. Couple more days and we see who has it in the mountains. I am hoping for TJ, but he seems to just not have the punch in the last kilo that the mountain specialists do. Great first week this one.

Not sure he caught them sleeping, so much as took advantage of a chaotic situation. Stybar seems to fly under the radar on a team full of road stars, likely underestimated by the other teams/guys on the road. After the crash all hell broke loose, Stybar took a flier and stayed away. Chapeau Styby!

I keep getting confused seeing BMC in yellow helmets for the team classification. From the heli shots I keep thinking I'm looking at c.2013 Cofidis.

To put things into perspective, when people claim that contador "doesn't have it" or is having a bad tour, which may both be true by his standards, the pistolero, after a blazing Giro, still only loses 4 minutes over however many kilometers and brutal mountain finishes. Im sure he would take that out of us on the local 12 minute climb. Shows just how great a rider he is that his bad form still trumps the best form of some other touted contenders. gonna miss him in a few years when he finally hangs it up.

This for sure. He may be a polarizing figure and certainly doesn't make for the traditional hero, but damn is he fun to watch.

Did I miss the Tour kit critique session? Regardless, I'd like to open it up.

FDJ, my wife nailed it by saying their kit looks like a 7th-grade girl's rhythmic gymnastics leotard.

Awful, and so disappointing because they've been good in years past.

I'm never a fan of white shorts.

I thought Tinkov's preseason camo kit was cool...this tour edition is horrible.

It's not bad, but I think it's time for BMC to try something new.

    Lotto Soudal nailed it.

That's all I can come up with now without doing a search and risking a spoiler.

I hold steadfast by my belief that kits shouldn't be remotely yellow. I can never find the yellow jersey in the pack anymore.

Yes but following that line of thoughts, kits couldn't be remotely white, green, pink, blue, red, black, orange, etc . I'm pretty sure all kind of colors are used by the 1 to 3 weeks stage races in the calendar.
