Default Moab MTB rental and/or trail recs?

Hey!!! The wifey has never been (and I haven't been in about 20yrs, yikes).... so... we're going in May.

Anyone have any recommendations for where to rent bikes?

Also, trail recs? I've heard there's been a ton of more flowy(ier) single track built in the last ten years.

    Thanks!

    Jason

I haven't been in over 10 years but I used to lead bike trips for teens out there and Slickrock and Porcupine Rim were eye-opening experiences for these east coast city slicker kids. Slickrock for the roller coaster fun, and Porc Rim for the views. What an amazing place.

Moab is awesome! I live here part time.

rentals : Go to Double Down Bike Shop Double Down Bike Shop | Rentals | Repairs | Parts & More . Really nice people, I get parts and service there. Really nice folks

Trails: Navajo Rocks is an amazing fairly flowy area. Horse Thief trails are a blast, I like to do the top 15 miles of mag 7 as a loop, they are fairly flowy (with one long climb), Moab Brand Trails are fun but the views are just OK. Of course you can't got wrong with slick rock.

If you are doing a VRBO, Rim Village is very nice.

Might as well go hiking in Arches and Deadhorse while you are here.
What else do you need to know?

Maybe try Poison Spider Bicycles. They have been around for quite a while.

I went 6 years ago with my buddies.

My favourite trail area was Magnificent 7. Loved the trails and terrain. There are some long view areas, but the scenery was so different than anything I'd ever seen it sticks in my mind.
We also did about 2/3 of the whole enchilada, everything above hazard was closed due to weather, the views and the riding were eye popping.
Slick rock was fun for about the first half then it turned into a death march type of ride.
Moab brands were OK, similar to slick rock, without the elevation changes.

We made the mistake of riding Poison Spider Mesa, definitely do not do it. The sign that says turn around is correct.

    This is great.

Thank you all. We're super excited. It's been so long since I've been down there. Like another life (though i still remember Poison Spider/Portal!)
