Default fat bike specific: leg hitting the seatstay.

So I already rode fat bikes but never owned one. I just build this new to me 27.5fat Farley and since the only pair of pedals that were not already mounted on a bike were those Tim atac mx?, this is what I mounted. I intend to ultimately ride that bike with flat pedals but I wasn't against trying out with the atacs.

So far the bike is still rocking a temporary non dropper seatpost with a bit of setback so obviously I have the possibility to sit a but more forward. I haven't really ridden it, just went in circles in my rooftop to check the position but I found out that even with the ass on the saddle nose the bottom of my thighs are hitting the seatstays.

Frame has a pf41 121mm BB so made for fat bikes with the "narrow" q-factor.

Is that a common issue with fat bikes? Should I look for pedals with longer than normal axles or use cranks for bikes typically made for 5" fat using spacers ? Or is this just an issue because the clips lock my leg into place and I will naturally put my feet farther from the axle on flat pedals?

I used to be a TT specialist 20y ago and back in the days I was one of those guys riding with the legs inside and I would sometimes it the top tube with my knee.

I reply to myself. I eventually found out in my first ride that I put my feet much more midfoot on flat oedals and the issue disappear.

Glad it worked out. I usually run flats on my Jones with 3-inch tires and have no issues. When I occasionally put SPDs on it, I might feel my heel brush a chain stay once in a while.
