    Default Cool, breathable liner shorts/bibs

The humid part of the year is upon us where I live.

I know you all have a pretty good idea of what works WRT bike clothing, so I am asking for your collective experience.

I think a light breathable bib short, or even short, to be worn under a lightweight pair of looser fitting MTB shorts would be helpful on some of my rides.

What do you use, and what do you like?

    Thank you,

    Jeremy

I got pearl cargo liner bibs to wear under baggies...the are mesh so very breathable...not in love with the chamois...the pi baggies are unremarkable

I ordered some velocio mesh bib shorts as well but backordered! Their trail shorts are super thin and stretchy...they will be my go to baggies going forward

7Mesh Foundation shorts do the trick for big rides, good when its hot, good both up and down. I wore last them weekend at Pisgah for a Black Mountain followed by Turkey Pen ride and that was the one part of my set up I didn't want to throw down the mountain.

Those look pretty sweet. The bibs too.

How is the fit? True to size?

Iíve seen a few brands recently advertising indoor specific shorts - might be something to look at.

Trust their sizing guide; you want to base your sizing on thigh diameter, not waist diameter: Sizing Guide. I have their mesh liner bibs as well as their Mk2 bibs and the chart works well.

The Pactimo liner bibs are solid. Meshy. They have a new additional version released for this year which I've not tried. Note: they make em for guys too.

I just tried out the Velocio mesh bibs and ordered a second pair. Wasn't sure of the fit when I put them on but didn't notice them once riding. Not a huge fan of the straps crossing in back because they twist and need untwisting. But that is a small gripe.

the 7mesh ones are really breathable

note you will look essentially naked, so they are underbibs only

Just came across these - designed to be worn under shorts so some of the panels are mesh.

It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage.

By the looks of it, they may be off setting any benefits of the additional mesh with the overall amount of material used on the rest of the shorts - specifically all that material around the waist and back.
Of course this speculation based on looking at photos on the internet...

The Velocios I mentioned are pretty much all mesh and cheaper. So far I like them a lot.

I had the same experience with those mesh bibs.

How light are the trail shorts? I've been eyeing them since I got the mesh bibs.

Two thumbs on on the these. Pretty much the same report that funcrusher makes on the Velocio.
