$$$$ box doesn't mean much to a 9yr old that accidentally glued his wheel to his axle minutes before the pinewood derby. #igotthis

As a kid my dad ran a mechanic trade school. I had more of an advisory role for my Pinewood Derby car. I had the only car with a lacquered paintjob and polished axles and won each heat by multiple car lengths.

i'll have to post a picture of the car i built. it's a sleeper. not a single thing fancy about it. except polished axles, one front wheel higher than the other, optimized balance via cut and shaped lead tape. i could almost guarantee that the car i built would have won last night. only problem was that it was camouflage, so it stayed home.

3 guys, 3.5 days in Ojai:

    70 adult bikes
    70 rear racks
    70 picnic crates
    30 kids bikes
    100 custom bells.

We calculated that it was about 18 man-hours just to unpack everything.

Not as sexy as the other things ya'll workin' on but it might compare just based on how ridiculous this was.

Rosey's TIME and Saab's LOOK are killing me. Awesome bikes. If I were to ever get a plastic bike...

tandem wheels laced and front brought up to 80% goal tension. Those Apline3 triple butted spokes are THICK. tight fit getting them into place, but I think they will do a good job!
They laced up real easy once the spokes were in place and they are pretty true without any real effort in trying to make them round.

LBS mentioned I can use his truing stand if I coordinate a time with him, so im holding off now to finish the build there.

Today was a weird day. I had a bike in the workstand to strip it down. N-1. Didn't feel right.

The latest on my stand. I've had this frame hanging in the garage for months and finally found the time to build it up for my wife. Weve not ridden off road together since before kids.

I finally laced the wheels and mocked up this build. Should be a nice and flashy all-rounder for my girlfriend.

Re tandem - am I seeing an inner chainring on the NDS stoker crank?
