    Default Shimano M525/M515 pads

I’ve been doing some reading of Shimano M525/M515 compatible brake pads for our new tandem. These are for TRP/Spyre brakes and uuuuge 203mm rotors.

Obviiously, front brake will get a workout doing nose wheelies and such.

    What do you like?

I am partial to Swissstop (never know how many 's' to put) and Galfer.

Thanks, Swissstop was one of the first I looked at. Never heard of Galfer, I'll check that out.

All 3 of my disc-brake mountain bikes use that B-series pad. It makes the spare parts logistics easier. I admit I find the stock B01S pad perfectly adequate. I'm currently getting good use and surprising longevity from a pair of Kool-Stops. But I'm intrigued by the Galfer E-Bike option, the purple one.

I've been impressed with disc brake pads from DiscoBrakes.

They seem to outperform the stock pads on multiple bikes.

What are the Galfer bicycle brake pads made out of? Are they sintered or semi-metallic, or are they resin? I can't locate a description of the bike brake pads.

Most are organic / semi-metallic. Only their pads for bike trial are sintered.

They have decades of experience in the moto industry and automotive and only do rotors and pads. I don't remember which color I have mounted on the formula cura of my trail bike right now but I observe less brake fade than the oem.

Custom (of course) Co-Motion Steelhead. Fits 45c tires and it's white because that shows the dirt better.
