    Default Praxis PF30 Adaptor

I am the pleased owner of a Gaulzetti Corsa and have installed a Praxis PF30 bottom bracket. Does anyone have any experience with these? I install based on instructions, and my crankarms were off to the non-drive side. I centered the crankset, and the drive side cup is about a mm away from the shell but bottomed out. I don't think it is going anywhere, but I basically could use a rubber washer on both sides of the bottom bracket instead of only the non-drive (they use a rubber washer instead of a wavy washer like a BB30 crankset). I am not nervous about the 1 mm gap after a 40 mi group ride, but it doesn't seem right.

I'll take calipers to it today. It looks to measure out correctly with a tape measure, but a caliper will back me up.

The shell measures 67.63mm. I do not know of standard bb variance, but seeming .5% would be well within range.

...well, he seems very excited about his bb adapter anyway...

Could you post a couple of photos of your bb install?

    Is that a "permanent" adapter?
    Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.

It should be removable with a cup removal tool, so not too permanent. I had been thinking about trying one of these, but ended up going with the Wheels Mfg spacers.

welcomdmat, did you talk to anyone at Praxis? I've heard they have good support.

I chatted with them, and they were great -- very fast to respond.

They said that the initial setup was correct. But the unbalanced crankarms bothered that neurotic part of my mind. The adapter is certainly removable -- I backed it out a bit and pushed it back in as I worked to center everything.

Even with the non-bottomed out drive side, the bb is very solid. I have done a couple of longer rides and a couple of at-least-race-hard group rides with no noise or complaints. I don't think that their design would allow movement.
