Checked out the Amazon earlier to see if I could pick them up w/o shipping, sure enough 6 available.

I'll think about it for a bit, undoubtedly nice tools and local-ish, but that's some coin for hex wrenches. Well a few hrs later, F'it let's pull the trigger. Only to find "currently unavailable."

Damn, is the "Salon-Bump" becoming a thing?

Here's a new one, suspension top cap sockets. I'll do a handful of sizes to cover the majority of modern forks. Although there are some outliers that are going to get passed over. photo lifted from Bike Rumor.

Dammit, where were those 10 years ago when all the top caps were plastic?

Ready when you are buddy. All I want are 24-26-28-30-32 mm. That's not too much to ask? I hope that's what I'm seeing. I'm even fairly sure I don't care about 24-26, because Snap-On 12 pt 3/8" sockets have oddly shallow lead-in chamfers, and have yet to screw up a top cap I've used them on...

The 24-32 is 2mm increments were green lighted for production yesterday. That will cover all current Rockshox and Fox forks as well as MRP (White Brothers) and a couple of others that happen to overlap. I'll add in some other sizes as demand comes and production settles out. Pricing and availability yet to be finalized.

Can anyone tell me about their experience with seat tube reamers? I'm looking at the Icetoolz and wondering if it is a durable tool.

Icetoolz, as solid a product ending in "z" has any right to be. Durable? Well, that's subjective of course...But no is the short answer.

It was time to relive the finishing pinch point in the process. This guy showed up yesterday 6 cubic feet of media shaking furry. We're probably going to have to build a closet to inclose the two of these guys and the compressor that's in that corner as well. It's always something.

I bought the Icetools reamer set and sent it right back. The reamers are marked and measure .2mm oversize. The 27.2mm is marked and measured 27.4mm. My ancient Hozan reamer for 27.2 measures 27.2 and is just worn out. The Silva I bought to repace it also measures 27.2mm.

But a Silva from Andy at Torch and File. I bought the 27.2 and made a handle for it. The spiral cutter works well in seat tubes that are already slotted.

It may be a bit pre-emptive, but I was so excited about this new tool replacing nearly everything I just had to post it.

    Tool Wednesday?

ordered some awefully expensive cutters: Park 791, 690-XL, 788 and the associated centering cone.

AKA PF30 and 44mm HT reamer and facer.

YIKES, guess I need to make a few more frames now.

On Tuesday I ordered Cyclus, BB BSA thread cutter, BB facer, 1" head tube Handle & reamer, headset press, fork end gauge, 1 1/8" crown race cutter, 1 1/8" head tube reamer. Aus$750 worth!! Still need to get a 30.6 seat tube ream.

The crux being I had to order them from Germany as the local distributor bitched and moaned everytime they were rung up. I was happy to pay their price and support local but got it cheaper with shipping from Germany with no bitching or excuses.

    I was the same.
The bike shop I deal with here is more than welcome to me inquiring because I usually get it from them, even if its a little more... but the PF30 and 44mm HT reamer bits were special order and would take 6-8 weeks. I hope that ordering them from Niagara Cycle they would be in stock and will get to me in a few days... but this is my first experience with Niagara.
