    Green Grips cloth tape.
Newbaums has some sort of Alien super glue on it.
I lament the passing of the lovely Viva Japanese cloth tape.
The Aldo method, soak the tape to get rid of the evil glue, wrap wet.

Of late I'm obsessed with various handlebar tapes. It's not that I don't like Cinelli (snort). Call it mid-summer fahting around with things that don't matter but don't point your finger at me...sinners. Here's to rediscovering some old favorites. Cheers. I'm wrapping good old hard to stretch and sometimes the silly paper protection strip tears 18 times: Fizik.
The trick ,if there is any, would be to pull it within a gnats eyelash of breaking. When you pull it tight the stuff feels amazing.

Next up, broken glass and mastik.

I typically use Cinelli Cork or Gel Cork but recently tried out Bike Ribbon's Basic padded tape, costs ~$7. It wraps really well & while not as cushy as the Cinelli, the white doesn't pick up a lot of dirt & can be cleaned up easily with typical household cleaners. From 10 feet it almost looks like leather

Specialized S-Wrap Pro (I think) is delicious:

As was my original Busyman stuff (before Mick stopped using the shiny leather):

Always loved the Stella Azzura / Bike Ribbon Eleganza too:

Generally I'm a big fan of Lizard Skinz when I can be bothered to pay for it, and Bike Ribbon do an imitation leather tape called Eolo Soft which is actually pretty good. I loved the look of the Cadence 'All Over' stuff, but dirts sticks to the white version like there's no tomorrow, and there ain't no getting it off. Might get some of the black version for an impending update to my 'zetti though.

As for wrapping, this is my method - definitely 'figure-of-8': Wrapping bar tape - a guide | ELEVEN vélo blog

Arundel Gecko is my go to, next in line Cinelli Volee.

So I was thinking about how adhesive-backed bar tape is the invention of the devil, and how aside from Benotto Bike Ribbon, my second favorite type of bar wrap is Scott Proper wrap (no longer made... dammit). Well, the Proper wrap is a thin rubber strip with a foam-like surface bonded to one side, and that got me wondering...

Has anyone tried wrapping with inner tube? I was just brain-storming a thought to take an inner tube and cut it around (twice) to make a strip about the same width as regular bar wrap. I've got plenty of trash tubes waiting for me to either do a massive patch fest or just give up and sacrifice them to whomever.
I used to use inner tubes, works great

Whatever is on special is the go now, Fizik was cool and felt good, currently one has cloth and the other has my favourite tape pattern of all time....

I haven't tried the S-Wrap Pro, but I used the S-Wrap Roubaix early last year for some extra cush when recovering from an injury. It is so thick it looks ridiculous, but it was really comfortable. Not great for hard efforts in the drops, though. I could feel the tape compress with each pull on the bars. A little disconcerting.

I'm still using the PRO tape on all my bikes, but I'm thinking it's time to try something else. I might give that Cinelli Volee a go if I find it in stock.

Just checked out this Cinelli Volee stuff - looks good. I was planning to get some Cinelli Mike Giant, but if the Cinelli Mash stuff is the same as the Volee (?) then that might be more appealing.

TT, is that shiny Fizik on a cruiser/beach bike? I find the Fizik tape is like a slip and slide when it's wet or my hands get sweaty. Definitely not my first choice for summer.

I have some Prologo on the all conditions bike and it is holding up nicely. I have white Lizard Skin tape on the nice weather bike. I like the feel, but I have not found a method for cleaning it yet.
