I rip the Lizard Skins stuff after a few months. I like the rubber Arundel stuff, it's forever and great for barehanded road riders like me. If you wear gloves, it might rip the palms.

Goes to show how much this is all 'horses for courses' - I thought the Zevlin stuff was decidedly average.

S-wrap or Fizik. Tried Lizard skin which was nice but wore out quickly!

3T Corius LTD....decent cushioning and amazing grip. By overlaying the logo side when wrapping a stealthy appearance can be achieved for those who think aesthetics matter.

Where are you finding that? None of my usual mail order sources in the US or Germany look like they stock it.

been wrapping a lot of Specialized HD bartape lately. i like that stuff. it's a little thicker than i'd prefer, but half the cost of Lizard Skinz. We'll see how it holds up.

I wrapped my mosaic with this tape and like it thus far too. I have been a fizik super tacky guy and probably continue but the brooks cloth is nice.

Purchased last summer from Germany. Take care to purchased the LTD version when ordering. Like their bars, there are 3 levels of bar tape (Pro, Team and LTD). Only the LTD has the grippy, pebbled surface.

I have been using the brooks microfiber stuff. Close to leather but thicker. Feels good, wraps well and looks good. The wear is good as well. Prior to that I like the fake leather cinelli stuff. Like caleido or the rapha of similar. Worked very well for me.
I tried handlebra but it split along a seam that was right at the top of the hood. Gave up on it. May try again someday but someone over there gave me a hell of a time whan I tried to buy one roll and asked that it had no seams.

And once you're finally sick of it the tape disintegrates leaving the adhesive and strips of the tape's underside stuck to your bars. Terrible.
I saw this post about a week after I installed Deda Mistral on my Davidson since it came with the bike and I had nothing else on hand. Man, you were not kidding. This stuff was just dreadful. Slippery when wet but also pretty slick when dry. I removed it from the bars last night and it took me at least half an hour to get the sticky residue off of the bars/cables/shifter clamps.

Replaced it with some Ritchey Race Gel. So far so good. It does have a velvety texture so the jury is still out on durability.

I’m using this ‘Knurl’ tape from Fabric on my Domane - the colour range is limited but, as black or white tapes go, it could be a new favourite:

I have this on my CX bike and I absolutely love it. Since the NFS stuff is gone... I think I am going to replace that with some more Fabric stuff when the time comes on my road bike.

Seeing the note re the NFS bar tape (Zevlin), RedMonkey Sports bought Zevlin. You can get the (formerly Zevlin) road bar tape from them.

Looks like different stuff from the photos, though. The Red Monkey tape has a texture that the old Zevlin didn't.

I'm not too keen on that sort of tape.
Most often will wear out the outside layer, leaving the under layer of foam exposed.
Also, when left for long time, it peels off the outer layer leaving the foam+glue strip on the bars. Takes time to be removed. No thanks.

Wrapping like it used to be

Align both clips secured with some electrical tape (use white if using white bar tape)

    Wrap 1

Insert a piece of foam/tape to keep the threaded stud sticking out (you'll never catch the thred otherwise)

Check again both for horizontal alignment to the bars

    Align vertical

Result (bars aren't at the right angle yet)

Yes, waiting for proper bar plugs!

I think the Big40 would be the same stuff as the NFS tape.

Nice! When I looked at the site when it first came up, they didn't have the Big40 listed. That's the stuff.
