    Default Creaky fork CSU fix

I have a 2013(?) RS Reba RL that has developed a creak. It's so unnerving that I put my Vassago rigid fork back on until I can figure it out. Choices I have thought of are:

    1. Wicking sleeve retaining compound. I believe Loctite 638 is the stuff. Hard to find in small amounts, but supposedly this will at least buy me some time. Found a few tutorials online that suggest dripping some into the gaps where the steerer and stanchions are pressed into the crown and it hardens up in the absence of oxygen, locking down the flexy bits.

    3. New CSU for about $200. I've serviced this fork religiously for years, so replacing that will be easy.

    2. New fork. 100-120mm of travel is all I need. 160 pound rider on a Karate Monkey on chunky XC terrain. The Reba is FLEXY but that makes me wonder if some of the flex I see is due to the CSU losing stiffness. Is that necessarily a bad thing? Should I seek a stiffer fork, and if so, where should I start for something on the "budget" end of the spectrum?

You got it's life out of it, that's sketchy and irritating.

You can get a Fox online for under $300 - I've tried wicking loctite and it's not a good fix, either it runs out or grease contamination nixes it.

Iíve never seen the loctite or linseed tricks work on forks. If you can get it 100% perfectly clean and let it sit upside down for 36 hours it may be quiet for 1-5 rides but it always comes back.
