    Default 24 hole straight pull : lace 2x ?

Never build a straight pull spoked wheel before.
I understand for a 24 hole (road rear-disc wheel to carbon rim) 2 cross is the only way to go?
And spoke gauge not too light?

    Either that or (shudder) radial.

    I'd go 2x

    From an old thread...

If you look at the bracing angle of a 24 spoke 2x - it's just like a 32 hole 3x.

Do you have the hub already? You won’t be able to select the number of crossings you want, you’ll have to stick to what the hub was designed to use. I’d bet the hub is going to be made for 2x on both sides unless it was part of a factory wheel like roval or the such.

Als, check how much angle the rim gives to the nipple, it is very important.

    Neat trick !!!

Nothing at all wrong with 2x, every single 27.5" MTB wheel I've ever built has been 2x and they are all still out there.

One more question for the first-and hopefully last- straight pull hub I ever lace:
Why are the flanges not positioned 1/2 the degrees from the other side?
How on earth do I correct for that in the spoke calculator?
Thanks for all the prior input, you all rule!IMG_0146.jpg
