My usual riding friends are all locals and don't appreciate English history or pre-history.

An easy 80 mi tour in Somerset to see the mystical island of Arthur's Avalon.

Bristol-Glastonbury-Dorchester - A bike ride in Bristol, England

Taking train to Bristol from Paddington
Leave Bristol and take a quick loop through Cheddar Gorge, then off to Glastonbury. I want to see the Tor, Abbey Ruins and Chalice Spring.

From there, I head to Sherborne and check out the castle ruins on the lake. then to Dorchester and the Maiden Castle which is the largest iron age hill fort in England.

It is a nice 80 mile hilly route but also historically interesting.
Train fare is about £80 for the ticket to Bristol and open ticket from Dorchester.

It will either be fun or a debacle depending on trains. Anyone in London looking for a different route to join? PM me.
