    Default Raid Rockingham 2019

I just registered for Raid Rockingham 2019 on June 2 in Newmarket, NH. I've signed up once or twice before but haven't been able to get up there for the ride. This year looks extremely good, however, so I hope to see some VSers there.

Any suggested hotels/motels nearish to the start?

Hotels are a bit of a challenge. I stayed in Manchester the last time I did it.

I need to sign up and have a commitment to myself to do it.

    An option:

Wentworth By The Sea in New Castle. Use Marriott points if you've got 'em.

Just a few minutes to Portsmouth for dinner, and a short ride over to Newmarket...

I used points to grab a room in Durham. It’s just a couple miles from the start and finish line.

Early bird registration ends Sunday night: Register | RAID Rockingham

And I hear rumors that a certain outrageous automobile (with an outrageous bike rack) recently profiled by Petrolicious may be at said event. And truth to this rumor?

I'm in.. have done it every year...
classic was 3 years ago... first drops fell as we exited the parking lot and it poured like hell the whole rest of the ride.
I needed new everything on the bike.... cables, chain, cassette, freakin handlebar tape.
It is a fun ride and not particularly hard.

On the fence this yr. Add in all the other trips I've got planned for the NE and might as well get a season pass.

I tried to tempt her by paying her entry, but she has a race in Canada that weekend (Mont Tremblant?).

Unfortunately, it is looking like this won't be happening for me this year. I'm selling my house and buying a condo closer to where I work and as such, have packed my schedule full of work. To make the closing of my current house I had to move a trip which unfortunately overlaps with the Raid.

I don't know if registrations are transferrable or not but anyone interested would be welcome to have mine, which is paid. PM me if interested in trying to make that work.

Bummed about it but the goal is to have a condo closer to my work and be able to get back to serious riding ASAP.

Connected on to the first railroad bed / dirt section of the course yesterday.

Nice jersey... I will test the quality of the build... hands won't be so tired from all the shifting...will hold on better.

Are the reports of a long solo win by SteveP true? Or did he take it again in a wild field sprint?

    Pictures? Reports?

Pooch botched the sprint by shifting down when he wanted up. The guy on a fat bike pulling a trailer with a 50lb goggle-wearing dog in it beat him at the line. So close! Di2 should come with bigger levers and signage that states up and down.

Bewheels kindly escorted me and my daughter around the course. We saw a guy on roller blades while swinging a hula hoop around his waist and playing a banjo - real talent. We had kids lined up along the course hoping to get a high five from the riders. There was a talented band playing some oldies (SteveP knows the tunes) at rest stop number 2 and three women belly dancing on the side of the road toward the end of the ride. Quite a nice ride with lots of nice roads.
