Default Philly Bike Expo: Nov. 5 -6 2016

    216 Philly Bike Expo

I've been to a few and attended some others as exhibitor. Philly Bike Expo covers the range of bicycle disciplines like no other with an easy going approach you will appreciate.

Look for me at the show, I'm the tall guy selling NFS.

Also, please check out the website NOW and be impressed with the huge number of exhibitors. Exhibitor List — 216 Philly Bike Expo

If you are up for it Boyd "Brings Pain" and I will lead early morning rides that will clear your head which has us back in time for opening bell. Count on a brisk pace, please wear a helmet and be self sufficient should you lose your way (practically speaking).

*Gold Star if someone shags me lunch that involves broccoli rabe, cheese and shaved meat.

The rides were worth the trip up last year. Part Rocky Balboa, part USPRO Championship, etc. I really, really hope I can make it this year.

The bike show was great too. It was a leap of faith parking my car in a lot with strangers and leaving them with the key. But it worked out great and my car was in the same parking lot (not the same spot) when it was all said and done.

    Let's see what happens.

The Best in the combo you desire. Go with the brisket (its carved not shaved but you wont care after the first bite)

    DiNic's Roast Pork

    And you are welcome

The PBE is a great time, all-round. Amazing PEOPLE, amazing stuff of all kinds.
...bikes, components, clothing, bags, art, jewelry...& food and drink :-)

If you're planning to make a day of it, drive to somewhere along here: Schuylkill River Trail – Schuylkill River Trail
ride to the event and dig the inside-the-expo bike parking.
It's a blast to cruise the river trail, urban your way thru some nice downtown, hang in a 2-wheeled heaven, then get your ride back on!

If you'd like to enjoy a Philly Weekend, it's a also a sweet time of the year to bounce around town & enjoy a very cool world-class city.

Philly is a great town, sadly I'll be running the NYC marathon that weekend so I'm missing the festivities.

Do hit Monks cafe for some fantastic Belgians. They have a tasty menu and an impressive beer list, that includes way more than just Belgians.

Hope to make it and expo again this year. Had a great time at the event, and a blast on the rides with you guys last year.

Tally- Joostix is bang-on. DiNic's is the spot. Though I'd argue the roast pork with rabe is the flagship. ;)

we are coming in for a vacation but our 6h drive we might not be there early in the day, travelling with our baby can make a long day.

As a local, I can vouch for DiNic's being *the shit.* It's also very close to the convention center.

For lunch and stuff, you really can't beat Reading Terminal Market (where DiNic's is). Plenty of options, and good.

I third it. The roast pork with broccoli rabe and provolone is the way to go. Will increase your FTP by 50 watts at least. Been around forever. One of my high school buddies worked at the South Philly original in the 70's. It was good to know people in high places.

Reports? Pictures? Rides? Couldn't make it this year on a tight budget. Weather looked perfect.

Great show. Perhaps the best yet.

Pretty nice rides each morning. Whoever chose those routes knows a thing or two.

Talked to lots of folks on Saturday - Boyd and Nicole, Drew, Kristof, Richard and Deb (mostly Deb!), Rody, Eric, Noah and Suzanne, Joni (who had me modeling Velocolour gear for passers by), and of course, Josh and Matt.

Edit - almost forgot Scott Hock from No. 22 - nice guy, and they are doing impressive things.

I was at the show on Saturday and was fortunate meet a number of people from the Salon. Yes, one gets to ogle some beautiful bikes but for me it's also a great learning experience. Seems I could have been back at school: I got to chat with faculty members (Eric Estlund, Chris Bishop), the Dean (Richard), head coach (Josh), as well as the uniform supplier (TaylorJ).
Seriously, kudos to the Bilenky's for putting on a show with such a friendly and collegial vibe!

Gaulzetti was there in the Seven booth. How did I forget to mention Craig?
