NYC/Westchester/Fairfield Hampsten Ride - Saturday, 9/27 11:15am

Hampsten Owners' Ride:

Saturday 9/27, 11:15am
Fox Lane High School (Upper lot), Route 172, Bedford, NY
~45 miles through northern Westchester County

Fox Lane High School is on route 172, right off 684 for anyone arriving by car and an easy 15 minute ride from Mt. Kisco train station for anyone arriving by train. The 9:47 train from GCT would have you to Mt. Kisco at 10:45 which should give enough time to fill bottles and ride to the high school before an 11:15 start. I can lead a 10:50 start from Mt. Kisco train station.

I'd suggest the following 45 mile route, which provides a nice mix of Westchester roads, and which is rolling, but not too hilly. It also incorporates a few sections of smooth gravel roads, but nothing with a large aggregate mixture, so all fine on 23mm tires, and a couple of scenic spots you'll all recognize from D-CT's ride reports. 45 miles from Fox Hill - A bike ride in Town of Bedford, NY

It'll be fun to see how many Hampstens we can get in one location, but all salonistas and friends are obviously welcome.

and by "a hampsten", i guess i really mean free time and no kids and the opportunity to spin around the gorgeous countryside with all you internet weirdos i know and love! of course, if i had no kids, who would ask me when i get in from a ride "are you faster than darren?", to which i enthusiastically respond "YES!", and then we talk about santa claus. where were we again?

i can prepare a ride "extension" for you if you want, or you can figure it out. lots of good roads around there.
