    Default Farmer's Daughter Ride (NY)?

Is anyone from NYC heading up to do this ride? (The Farmer's Daughter Gravel Grinder | Chatham, NY May 17, 2015)

I'm registered and was all set to meet up and ride with an old friend but, unfortunately, he had a nasty run-in with a log splitter.

Got a last minute spot and did thes today with two others. Had a great time and the dirt roads were in great shape.

This seems both entirely reasonable and highly unlikely.

Its a good event. I've done it every year. Quiet dirt roads, a bit of single track and a free beer at the end.

Slim chance I'll be there but I'll be bringing my skinny tire bike if I do.

Going to be in NYC this weekend, but I did 10 Broeck the opposite direction about two weeks ago. Also part of Stonewall but the northern section, not the one this route takes. The roads were very scenic. In the direction I went a nice stiff climb up 10 Broeck to Macedonia, so watch out descending that! But it was all sticky clay mud and filled my brakes and fork steerer tube. County and towns have been resurfacing the dirt roads with new gravel so what was sticky clay then may be teeth crunching rocks now. Rocks would be more fun on wider tires, but I road the mud with 28's and would actually have been better with 25's for more clearance.

Weather forecast for this weekend is truly heinous.
I may be there, I may not.

Going to be there for the mudfest.

Stripped off the fenders and stuck on some 38's. Now wishing I put on some knobbies. Can't wait for my rim brakes to do nothing.

Bring along some chopsticks too for digging out your brake calipers and cleats
