Default Upijata Arts Pine Ridge SD

Upijata means Scissor Tailed Swallow and Upijata Arts is a Non Profit started by our daughter Shannon and some of her Native friends she made while volunteering at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. They are fundraising to help offset cost for the upcoming Summer Program to promote Native Arts and Dance and have designed a pretty cool T shirt to help raise $$. It's a worthy cause and I'm very proud of her for being involved. Upijata Arts Company Fundraiser | Bonfire

“This is an awful man, waving a book he hasn’t read, in front of a church he doesn’t attend, invoking laws he doesn’t understand, against fellow Americans he sees as enemies, wielding a military he dodged serving, to protect power he gained via accepting foreign interference, exploiting fear and anger he loves to stoke, after failing to address a pandemic he was warned about, and building it all on a bed of constant lies and childish inanity.”

I spent a week on the Pine Ridge Reservation at the IHS hospital. Good for her for volunteering and helping with this project. I’ll certainly give it my support, too.

Thanks to all who've helped! They are over half way to their very modest goal of 50 Shirts, most of us spend more than the cost of the shirt on a latte and a couple tubes. Their first workshop was last year, Shannon stayed on the Res with her friends, life changing experience cannot describe what she went through. Help me help her my friends. Buy a T-shirt, from the bottom of my heart I thank you. As Shannon said on Twitter, "please buy a T-shirt to support my Nonprofit that way I know it's real". Thanks all!
