    Default Robert Capa, photographer

I consider myself a bit of an amateur photographer, but not a student of the art/profession. Trying to change that a little bit.

Just read a Robert Capa bio, Blood and Champagne
    http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Champagn.../dp/0312315643

Pretty amazing stuff. He is supposedly known as one of the forefathers of war photojournalism but the book reads like damned Forrest Gump. Quite a cast of varied characters appear in his life. Henri Carter Bresson, Hemingway, Steinbeck, Ingrid Bergman. He was THE guy on D-Day as far as photos were concerned.

Well worth the read. If anyone has recos on similar subjects, I am all ears.

    my name is Matt

    The dude is THE SHIT.
Even if he staged a few photos... they're still dope.

Both he and HCB had their fingers on the pulse ... you can basically look up any major event during their time and find a few of their photos.

Current photo journalists are pussies and hacks when you compare em.

Yeah, that Hetherington dude. What a pussy. Oh, wait. What am I saying? He's not current.

    He's dead. From shrapnel wounds.

    Hm.

    Maybe the pussy is you.

Brah, I was being a little facetious. I have a whole bunch of respect for a PJ of any era. Dudes like Tim have bigger balls than most. Hope I didn't offend too much.

Then I sincerely apologize. I let a petty temper tantrum get the better of me.

    Sorry.
