    Default Photo Storage Services

It is 2019 and I do not use a photo storage/sharing service (and I need help).
Yes, as a technologist I am embarrassed.

My iPhone gets backed up to my windows computer and not iCloud (but the computer gets backed up to the cloud).
My digital camera is the same, backed up to my computer and then the cloud via a backup service.

I also bumped up against my VSalon photo storage limit even though I always try to downsize my photos before uploading them.

What is a good photo service to use and easy to link photos to sites like VSalon?
(I looked though old threads but it seems these services are always changing for the better or for the worse)

Flickr. It has changed in various ways but it is still the easiest to manage.

Not sure why you donít use the image sync through iCloud. That isnít a hosting service but it is very stable these days. I like that camera images show up on my phone after I load them into Photos on my laptop. And vice versa. I set my desktop to archive full sized image files from iCloud, then back up that computer religiously. So no matter where I take the image, a full sized copy ends up on my desktop machine and then gets backed up every other night. Plenty of redundancy.

But anyway, Flickr just works. Very easy. Get pro. Costs money but whatever. It works.

I use iCloud to store and backup as well and Imgur: The magic of the Internet to post photos, but Imgur has now eliminated the mobile posting feature, which means that you can only post to a forum like VSalon via your PC or laptop. Maybe I'll take a look at Flickr.

I am a little more advanced than average and use Smugmug. Never an issue and great customer service if you've question. Cost is worth it. At least you know they will not go Photobucket on you.

Smugmug now owns Flickr. Unfortunately an old Oath rights permission form still pops up when you log out of and then back into Flickr. You can just click ďdo laterĒ and not agree to anything, but Smugmug should get rid of that.

Iíve been using Flickr since 2005? and while I havenít liked all the changes none of them have made it worse in function and some have made it better. Thatís like batting 1.000 for a tech company. Usually they do their best to ruin everything.

I've been a long time paid flickr user, but my Pixel 3 came with unlimited backup to google photos and it's been quite nice. There doesn't seem to be a direct option to create html or bbs image links, but that's my only gripe so far.

I was only iphone for 12+ years, but that's one pixel feature that I've found much easier and more useful than icloud or whatever apple had.

    Another vote for Flickr.

Somehow made it from Blackberry to today, through Yahoo and Oath, without breaking.

I went ahead and gave them money this year, first time I’ve paid for it - using since ‘06. Worth it.

I've been using postimage.org ever since Photobucket orphaned all the free users, but I'm hardly what one might call a "power user" (or even a "power archiver") so I'm not really using it enough to expose any potential shortcomings.

If this image shows up for everyone then Amazon Photos works. I have never tried using it to share before.

Thanks. It showed for me in preview and here in the posting when I posted but now I don't even see it.

Amazon Photos does not work for sharing to the forum.
