My sister-in-law wrote the user's manual for that camera.
    Welp, that's my story.

RIP Polaroid as we knew it

Getting to use the 20x24" polaroid at MassArt was an amazing experience.

Teaching large format (4x5) with a polaroid always fascinated my students. They treated those images as if they were gold.

    I miss that shit.

Can you still get film for a SX-70? I think we still have a couple laying around in my dad's stuff. I took a lot of those as a kid.

    Instant Film

Caveat: they get mixed reviews on Amazon (where they can also be purchased)

As Mabouya noted, IP can be hit or miss. Great results to mess around with kids, or experiment with film manipulation. I gave Ed 3 packs of expired film (2017) with the camera.

I think the best way to get good results is to use super fresh film - Buy direct from IP, as it’s impossible to know what’s coming from AMZ. It’s like 1970 all over again.

The resurrection of film production for these cameras is also a fantastic story.

I'm going to address the elephant in the room - did he pay asking price?

Beyond that, isn't serendipity cool? Thanks for sharing.

OK, I lol’d. Short answer: Yes.

I almost just gave it to him, but I’ve got three kids under 12, you know?

    Price was fair.

Polaroid Type 55 positive-negative film was the most amazing product going while it was still going. The
positive was okay but the negative was brainless and beautiful. Amazing to print.

If you want to play around with instant film and amaze your kids, get a Fuji Instax camera. I like the Fuji Instax 300 Wide - instax WIDE 3 | Fujifilm Global
