    Default Help Needed

For reasons that belong in another thread I had my last drink 28 years ago and my wife thought it would be a good idea if we brought wine to a neighborhood party! I will need 6 bottles and I am thinking 3 red and 3 white. It will be finger foods and deserts. Can I keep this between $60 and $100 . I need help please.

Keep it simple. Look for 90+ wines. They are typically around 9-12$. Get either pinot grigio or chardonnay for the whites and a cabernet for the red.

Whoever is working the counter at your local wine merchant will know what's good in your price range - for a party I'd second a cabernet sauvignon along with a bordeaux blend of some sort. for whites, chardonnay or pinot grigio are pretty safe bets, and maybe a riesling for anyone who doesn't like dry whites. moscato for dessert if there's a good one in your price range.

Around here some markets have a "buy 6+ bottles, get x% off" deals. This sounds like a good application for it. Afraid I don't know what will be available in Florida so I wouldn't feel comfortable naming brands, but I'm sure you'll find some winners.

You can good quality in the "Menage a Trois" label of California blend wines. Their red is good for wine geeks and novices alike and it retails for about $10 a bottle. In the end, you'll probably fare best if you go to a decent liquor store and ask them the question you posed here. Don't stress and enjoy.
