I’m closer to the end of getting up at 03:25 for work than the beginning of getting us at 03:25 for work. So I’ve got that going for me. It’s Friday but sort of my Monday. Happy to be working!

I do believe I am well into the process of adding another bike. Components set, measurements taken, calculations underway.

So it looks like I'll be switching jobs soon, and depending on my start date, I'll have 7-10 days off to unplug, recharge etc.
Can't make firm plans until the timeline is known, but it will involve a couple days at the Jersey shore, lots of bikes rides, and maybe a quick overnight hiking trip with my dog.

Really wish my new frame would have arrived by then, but looking unlikely. Alas.

    In queue.

The world can go to hell, I don't care. I'm going to be riding in quiet places.

Happy 4/20! I'm laughing all morning with a contact high because KPIG is all over it.

And I watched an old Strade Bianche on the trainer this morning so tonight I'm trying out a batch of Spaghetti a la Vigliacca.

The sun will be out this weekend. That doesn't mean much to anybody not in northeast North America lately but if you're around here, you get it.

For the first time in 3 weeks I have been able to put my boots on for work. A broken big toe is no fun. I'm going to ride this weekend come hell or high water!

We live 0.3 miles up a steep hill. The average grade is 17% with the sections that are between 22-27% depending on what you look at to measure it. Yesterday I was trying to get my son to run up it. He usually runs up it but had not been feeling it of late. So He said I want to ride up it. I told him I give him $20 if he did without stopping. And today I am $20 poorer. Real proud of this 7 year old. BTW Lionel walked the hill.

Best $20 you spent in a while!

Absolutely crap week. Went mtb'ing in the forest with a Pal at 6:30 and it all melts away.
    Have a great weekend, y'all.

The kicker is I didn’t have $20 so he told me if I didn’t pay him by Saturday afternoon it would be $40!

Time really does fly, especially during your college years and when you work hard and keep your proverbial nose clean, good things often happen. We are headed to Athens, Ohio this afternoon as our middle kid graduates tomorrow and we are so excited, and I will admit, this is the one that I worried about. He's very personable, polite, motivated, a musician, an athlete and quite a bit the daredevil. Into Rubik's Cube, guitars, The Beatles, beekeeping, Manchester United, botany and growing exotic hot peppers...who knows. The kid that always pushed the limits and scowled at the Doctor when he needed stitches as a result of pushing those limits. He's one of those kids that found a purpose for school and focused on a goal and his academic performance in college far exceeded what he accomplished in high school. He's off to Optometry school in the Fall and I have let him know on more than one occasion that he earned his spot on the roster through hard work and commitment...mixed in with a bit of intellect and some of that daredevil for good measure of course. I say all of this as he reminds me of my Dad and that's the ultimate compliment. Perhaps life really does move in circles.

It'll be two weeks at my new job by the end of today.
The increased travel will take some getting used to, but working from home and shedding 1.5 hrs/day commuting(even if it was by bike sometimes) will be a good thing.

My son turned 17 on April 30, and has been talking about climbing Mt Shasta.
Friday evening we climbed to 10k feet then left our tent at 3am for the summit.
We were the first people on the 14180 ft summit at 8am on Cinco de Mayo.
