    Dario,

a little question for you. What's your favourite kind of (potential) customer? I mean, if you could decide the kind of people you want to buy your frames, which is the kind of "human being" you would prefer?

    Thank you

Dario a couple questions if I may..

    1.
For each of your frames, how would you describe what and/or who each were built for in your mind's eye?

    2. As you work towards some sense of perfection, is there a "vision" or feel you are striving towards? Or is it just paths along evolution of the "ideal"? Are your current models a reflection of that current vision of the ideal? For instance, what were the reason for discontinuing the CCMKP or the PaloSanto or the Fina

Thank for being here and allowing this conversation (actually all effb's)

if giancarlo ferretti or patrick lefevre came up to you with a giant bag of money and said, "make me forty bikes for my new protour team. we need the best bikes in the world", what bike or bikes would you make them and why?

possibly I want to know why of every thing REALLY INTEREST me.
in the past I asked you about the head tube lenght and.....no clear answer.
the same answer for info about the best fork.
    THAT'S ALL.
sorry but I do not understand the meaning of sinni, can you explain better?
I use the head tube extended to compensate the low position of the ahead system respect to the 1 inch threaded system , i use to extend the tube to try to use less spacers as possible.
I do not know which is the best fork , I have not had the possibility to have in my hands or for test all the forks on the market, but I know very well the technical specs and the performance of my fork.
Sorry but in your message I can't find a relation to the fact that you had asked me if I sell the frame without fork.

    Ciao
This is a sad story, but unfortunately is what I feel, the first name was a tribute to my father, after a long time, maybe too long, I realized that I made a mistake.
anyway i,it is a great pleasure to be here with you.

For me it is very important the feeling that I feel when I meet a person, I must say that I am very lucky in this, many customers after we met to discuss the details of the frame , have become friends for a long time, I think this is one of the most important aspects of my work and is a great pleasure and they are my favourite customers.

it is an hommage to her .
I forgot to give a name to the paintscheme , any idea?

    Dear Mr. Pegoretti,

Why not keep it simple, the paintjob should be named "Mamma"

Dario, how much time do you get in the shop and how much of the building is done by you vs other employees? Do you have a favorite part of the process?

    ciao,
I hope I have understood correctly your questions, if I make mistakes please let me know.

mxxxxxo: the beginning of the story, before then I had simply build the frames , I buy a tubeset thought by others a set of lugs the parts and build the frame .
I wanted to do something that was thought out and build by myself , from the beginning to the end, from the tubeset to dropouts passing through the geometric solutions, I wanted to build one thing that had a strong personality, but I didn't have in mind a rider especially , i had in mind a pure racing frame.
ble: I had in mind an extreme solution thinking heavy rider, very tall, a frame for the short criterium , nervous and stiff.
duende: represents for me, the thing that goes well always and at any time something like an evergreen song.
luigino: it was only the thought of paying tribute to an important person in my life, I haven't thought much about technicalities, I thought only to the rigour and respect
love and alu: I confess I have begun to build aluminium frames because nobody need steel frames at that time (1996/97) , the alternative was close the shop or change my jobs, at the beginning was almost a constriction , it is not simple for a steel builder change the mentality and i remember that was an hard time .
xcr: is the sum of all experiences, the attempt to join all the best parts and features of each model.

some times or periods a person has the feeling and the power to do something creative, at the beginning is a dream , and sometimes almost a feeling of being able to grab the dream ,at the base of everything I believe there is a constant thought , thinking you can lead to the solution or not, and sometimes this us frustrating, I've been very lucky and the models that I build now reflect my thoughts and my aspirations of course I always see small things to adjust, small steps that I can do. but I also believe that this is one nice part of this work something like an open door for tomorrow.
the main reason because I stopped the building of certain models was the change of supplier, the change of both steel and aluminium alloys , has required the redrawing of the tubesets, at that point I changed the names of frames.
    grazie

and thank you for being here with us

    ooooohh Senor Jerk,
very nice question and with this assumption , I'm happy to give you the first answer , you made my day.....
the first thing I would say it would be:

    Hi Mr. Ferretti
how are you and bla.. bla.. bla.. you have a nice giant bag in your hand please give me the money !

back from the dream, I am still convinced that a well designed and build steel frame can compete at a higher levels with any other material, if I were involved in something like this the first thing I would ask would be the list of riders to be able to know the physical characteristics of them and what they needs.
I believe that the main choice could be respo/mxxxxxo maybe some love/ble in function of the riders.
    saludos

    Ciao Eric,
I spend about 9/10 hours a day in the workshop, many times on saturday morning, to be honest is a period that we are very busy.
Daniel (Bepi) is back to Hungary in August and began his career as a framebuilder, now we are into three person , including myself, I spend about 2/3 hours a day for the internet ,bank ,mail ,messages ,bureaucracy, financial assistance bla..bla..bla.. the rest, mainly I weld/braze the frames , i spend sometimes in the paintshop when we have ciavete paintscheme to paint , I prepare the drawings geometries and try to see if everything works fine.
There is not one thing that I like more than other but there is one thing that I like less and are the 2/3 hours in the office.
    grazie mille
    Dario

That beautiful Falz, congratulations to Dario who designed and built with such determination and congratulations for customers who have the good fortune to use it on their frame.

Dario - the Falz is beautiful, very well done!

I may have missed this somewhere, but is the Falz going to be available for US-based framebuilders? Through Gita, or will one of the frame-building supply houses carry them? Is the brake set mid-slot or towards the bottom?

    Grazie Mille
