Steve, just caught up and read the post with the Bullard quote. For another take on the same notion, I can't recommend highly enough David Foster Wallace's "This is Water...". About a 10 minute read of his commencement address to Kenyon College, but one of the more beautiful admonitions for thoughtful, mindful empathy I've ever read. Someday, the world will be a much better place.
