Default What's the word on Texas Cyclesport

I'm doing some online parts shopping and Texas Cyclesport is showing up in searches pretty regularly. They have prices competitive with some of the Euro greymarket operations, but have some indications of possibly being more reliable for US customers. Anyone know their deal, have any feedback on past transactions, or otherwise want to chime in on the act of purchasing kit online?

Oh, and please only leave bad feedback if your name is in your signature. I want to get the real dirt, but only from real people.

I have ordered some stuff from them in the past. Price was good, went fine. That's all I got.

This is not a negative review.

I ordered a Shimano 105 R7000 group right when it came out. They listed it in stock, but when I ordered it, I got a back order note. They kept me updated by email, but the date kept getting pushed back. So I called several other places, and they all corroborated the stock issue. It was a Shimano thing. No one had complete groups at that point. So I called Texas Cyclesport and switched from a full 105 group to an Ultegra R8000 5 piece group. Very nice guy on the phone who was obviously trying really hard to make everything work right so I would be happy. I’d order again, but I would probably call to order with my shopping list of sizes and gearing etc. for the group to check stock on the shelves in real time.

I have bought Campy stuff from them with no issues and better priced than other suppliers. That said, for Campy (and SMP) I have used for best prices and service gambacicli dot com in Italy but if you need here...texas is pretty good.

I've been buying stuff regularly from them since late 90's. No problem whatsoever.

Awesome - thanks, everyone. I just made a purchase, will update when all, presumably, goes well.
