After 7-8 years of commuting, and cobbling together my winter wardrobe, I decided it was time for some good winter pants.
Just rec'd some Swrve winter trousers (softshell) and holy moly these things are toasty.

It was probably too warm to ride in them this morning, but temps are dropping 15 degrees before today ends and I'm probably riding home in the rain. So the true test is yet to come. But initial impressions are good.
    I hope they hold up.

As I mentioned elsewhere Rapha had a weekend sale of 30% off all women's clothing, which my wife noticed and had me bring to other's attention here. Her shipment arrived today. Whatever Rapha is doing, they definitely have my wife's attention.

Picked up this afternoon from the post office. Wanted to try top-end clinchers, use various Michelins and Continentals, 1st time with Vittorios.Vittorio.jpg

    Beautiful.

Compared to my venerable Park DHAG-1...it's like a Porsche versus a Yugo. I was about to pop for the DHAG-2 due to more compatibility, but I'm more than glad to have ponied up for the best.

A WheelsMFG PF30 Outboard BB 24mm with "the highest quality" bearings! I got nearly 3 years out of my SRAM BB/WheelsMFG adapters.

So far so good with one of these on my Baum, although that statement in itself has probably just jinxed it...

    Post bought me this today:

Pics don't do the finish on this thing justice...

Cannot wait to see that thing finally built up. In fact, I'm getting more and more curious every post it shows up in.

I don't typically make big purchases online, let alone from overseas dealers, but for the price, I wanted to see what the fuss over Campy wheels was.
And US sellers don't seem to have Shimano versions of these.

Campy Shamal dark labels, non two-way fit.

First ride, tomorrow, with Mich Pro 4 Races in 25mm. If nothing else, they look fast.

robin3mj - I'm anxious to try campy wheels and I think I'll start with Shamals. I may not be purchasing for awhile, so I will possibly get the new braking surface. Either way - let us know how much you like them.

Nice... I just ordered some Zondas yesterday to try out on my Zanc with SRAM Red. And Shimano pedals of course.

FYI, Ribble is pretty much giving away Zondas right now... < $300 with the 12% off discount code. Campy freehub only though.

Wiggle is giving away Zondas too. I am waiting on a pair. Maybe some new improved version is right around the corner.

Rapha City Rain Jacket arrived the other day. Sweet deal at over 40% off in clearance, it's a lovely garment.
Turns out it's the *exact* same colour as a well-loved rain jacket I bought 14 years ago.

7800 rings have become much harder to find (which makes sense considering they're two generations old), so I'm giving these ones a try.

That's what I use on my 7800 cranks. They're very good. You'll probably be pleased.

    Arrived over the weekend:

    1) New Embro sub. Signed up for a year. First issue arrived with two pairs of SOS socks.

    2) Kickstarter du jour. Mini Inch is, well, see for your self...

So far, so good. They roll nicely, and look good. I'll put additional feedback in the original wheels thread that started this whole thing...
I thought about waiting for the Mille (Exalith-type) version, but the combination of costing 25% more, not yet available, and requiring a carbon-specific pad put me off it. I'm sure they will be great.

Didn't come via USPS, but I finally got a home repair stand: Feedback Pro Elite. Why did I wait over a decade to do this?!?
