    Very cool Chris.
How will this distinguish vs the red IF and the Ritchey groveler?

Nice! I’ve always liked Shand’s bikes. Seemed very much of the place they were made and well, quite useful. Emily Chappell races a Stooshie on the Transcontinental Race.

A 46t rotor oval chainring arrived. Just in time too as my 50t oval ring was worn and started to have some chainsuck issues.

46t seems like a great size for all around riding and probably big enough for fast group rides.

    Some improvements:
    1) I noticed that when The chain is in the small ring, I could actually use a bit more of the cassette without the chain rubbing on the outer ring.

    2) The 12t difference between the big and small ring is smoother and less jarring than with a 16t difference.

    3) I could stay in the big ring and power up some little risers without having to drop it into the small ring.

I really like the 46 so far and my back broke when I read that Cav uses a 54t!!!

I've been using 46/34 for several years on the road, and I see no reason to go to a bigger ring.

I had a chance to join a pretty fast group ride this weekend and the gearing was fast enough for rolling around at 24-25mph. It had been a really long time since I was in a group like that and what I realized is that my all roads bike just doesnt feel as confident in a group as my pure road bike. When I get out of the saddle for that little burst of speed the bike feels like it is pretty tall.

As a white shoe guy (on the road bike), these are strangely attractive-then again-403's in ANY color should do the trick for most!.

I started out with 46/34 on a cross bike,
that turned into an all road bike,
and eventually cross-pollinated with my road-road bike.

And so here we are. The 46t ring hasn't changed the handling a bit.

That's cool. Let us know how it works out, particularly in hotter temps. i almost went with the GFC shell for my truck, but decided that i didnt want the RTT as a 24/7 fixture, so i'm probably going to eventually get some type of RTT for the Smartcap i would up getting. Do any RTT's have fans in them? the saving grace for my little microcamper is the screen windows and maxfan ceiling fan that pulls a ton of air through and keeps things cool on warm nights.

New SimWorks by Nitto stem for the Roberts; and an old saddle that might end up on either the Gios or the Roberts (when the replacement graphic inserts arrive and it’s had a rub of boot polish):
